A/N: just a short fic I wrote for Hobbits01!

"It's almost Padfoot's birthday!" James said happily dancing around Sirius. "Almost your birthday, almost your birthday! I can't wait to give you your gift! You want I now?"

"No" he replied trying to finish his schoolwork, "it's not my birthday."

"But, if we push the fast-forward button to 12:00 am and one second it would be." He said excitedly.

"James, go away!" Sirius said continuing his work.

James removed himself from Sirius' bed and went to his own. He stretched out on the covers with his hands behind his head.

"Bet cha don't know where I put your gift." James said, turning his head to Sirius.

"What'd you get me?" Sirius asked.

"I'm not telling you! You have to wait for your birthday." James said the last part sarcastically. "Hey Sirius, you want your gift?"

"James,"

"Yes Sirius,"

"Shut Up!"

"You're no fun. I'm going to bed." He said and laid his head on his pillow and went to sleep.

Sirius awoke to a loud James bouncing on top of him.

"Hey, hey Sirius," James said, "You want your gift? Do ya? Huh, huh, do ya?

"Get off me, you prat!" Sirius said, pushing James to the floor.

"Come on, open it!"

'Fine, Fine, what ever," Sirius said, wiping the sleep from his eyes.

James handed him a poorly wrapped gift. It felt kinda like socks, ya know how it's kinda mushy! Sirius slowly opened it, in fear something might jump out or attack him. He held it up in front of him. It was a pair of dull-white boxers with buttons everywhere.

"So… what…is it?" Sirius asked.

"Ha, ha! Get it? I sewed buttons on your underwear! Just like your favorite saying- sew buttons on your underwear!" James told him.

"It's a saying, James,"

"No," he said pointing at the gift, "that is your underwear! But wait, it gets better, Sirius, my dear friend!" he said pulling a loose button.

"So… it's a loose button," Sirius said bluntly.

"But wait"

In about 2 minutes, the boxer had turned a shade of neon orange.

"I know how much you love orange!" James said a smile spreading across his face.

"You know the only thing I hate more then the color orange, James?" Sirius asked him.

"Hmm?"

"YOU!" he said putting down his gift. He pulled the covers off him, and tackled James. They were laughing, so to say, more than fighting.

"Happy birthday Padfoot!" James said to his best friend.

With that, Sirius and James just started laughing harder now, for no apparent reason, I guess.

"Just know James, your birthday ain't to far away," Sirius said, "And truth be told, I solemnly swear that I am up to no good!"
