The Wolf at the Lake
I walked the lonely path of sorrow,
Inept to face insipid morrow,
acidic words pierce through my core,
I've loved and lost the nevermore,
no soul I gaze, coheres to mine,
the poison seeps, counting my time.
Another day, another hour,
that I can't bear, I've lost all power,
I'm leaving now, these watchful eyes,
binding me to scornful lies,
no soul I gaze coheres to mine,
the poison seeps, counting my time.
I travelled through the tranquil wood,
not caring that I'm understood,
the florescent scent, the crystal air,
embraces me, my new found lair,
no soul I gaze coheres to mine,
the poison seeps, counting my time.
Twilight draws near, enchanting scene,
here I stay, I am a queen,
the marble sky is rosy cream,
the crimson moon reflects the stream,
I reach the lake, a calming place,
the turquoise water garden's grace,
no soul I gaze coheres to mine,
the poison seeps, counting my time.
I heard a wolf cry out of sight,
his musical howl echoes the night,
a mysterious shadow I can see,
suddenly appears behind a tree,
his ice blue eyes, his frosty breath,
will this bring me to my death?
We stop and stare for just a while,
then as I gaze I start to smile,
we are the same, him and I,
deep sea ardent, until we die.
he walks to me, sits at my side,
for this I travelled far and wide,
now he is mine and I am his,
a new found friend for life that is,
this is a story I can tell,
about the wolf who broke my spell.
