Life is Beautiful
Chapter One
Wilbur Robinson never failed. Success emerges from failure. His father had taught him that. His father had taught him a few things, like don't mix in potassium and water or don't leave the garage door open. The potassium and water saved him from blowing off his eyebrows again. The garage door stopped him from fading from existence. But his father taught him the most valuable lesson without trying to. It is impossible to get away with murder.
That was a fact, a well known fact between normal people. A few people can get away with murder but Wilbur Robinson can't. Wilbur Robinson didn't fall at murder, the man was very much murdered, but Wilbur failed at getting away with murder.
How did Cornelius Robinson teach his son that it was impossible to get away with murder? The Father of the Future didn't commit the terrible act of taking the life of another human away but Cornelius was stripped of his life but two bullets, one to each temple.
Wilbur Robinson, age 16, walked into the laboratory, a Coke in his his hand and his mind filled with boredom. It was a school snow day but more like a blizzard day. The wind was so terrible you couldn't even step outside without being taken away with the snow filled wind.
"Dad?" Wilbur called. "Daaaad?" The lab was strangely quiet. No tinkering, no muffled curse words, only the stuff hums of machines. Brown eyes flickering the room, Wilbur walked towards the desk where his father usually was. "Dad!"
Wilbur Robinson, age 19, winced at the memory. He could easily recall the bullet holes that were rimmed with dried blood. What he could recall most, the thing that made him cry, was his fathers unseeing blue eyes staring into nothing, the blue eyes that used to hold wisdom, intelligence, genuine kindness. The eyes of the dead were eerie to look at. Wilbur should know, his had seen four pairs of them. One pair from his father, one pair of his fathers murderer.
Wilbur Robinson taught a murderer a hard lesson. Nobody to get away with murder, not even Ethan Meyers.
A/N...Well, if you are confused, good. If you are not, good. Everything is just good, especially when you review. =D
