AN: I don't know how I got back around to the Homestuck fandom. I honestly don't. But I know I've introduced a couple of my friends to it and they're probably going to be mad at me for a while.
At any rate, I figured it would work out better if I actually wrote something and posted it - for any sort of fandom. I've been sort of caught up in a whirlpool of activity recently.
So...here's this.
"I really wish you wouldn't cry like that,"
It was shocking to Sollux when he looked over to see Karkat standing there, giving him a knowing look. His voice had been a lot quieter than the hetero-chromatic eyed male had ever heard.
But then again, he hadn't spoken to the shorter too often, so who was he to say if it was normal or not?
He looked down, shaking his head. "Iif iit botherth you, then leave," he spat, sorrow filling his words.
And for a moment, he was sure that Karkat did leave. Then, out of nowhere, he found himself being pulled into a hug and nearly recoiled in surprise.
Definitely not normal, Sollux thought, but he couldn't bring himself to push away from the comfort that he found himself receiving.
When Karkat released him, sitting back on his heels, there was a strange look in his dark eyes. "Want to tell me what happened?"
Sollux held his gaze for a moment before he shrugged. "Ii hurt her.."
For what it was worth, Karkat didn't ask who Sollux had hurt. He didn't have to. "It's okay to be upset about that," he admitted. "But...it's also okay to talk to her about it and see where the two of you stand,"
"Ii have." Sollux admitted, glancing back down. "The forgave me. But...Ii don't detherve her forgiveneth.."
Karkat chuckled lowly at this, shaking his head. "I think she's the one who gets to decide that, Captor," he pointed out when Sollux gave him a dark look. "And if she's forgiven you, then forgive yourself and figure out where you two are going from here,"
It was quiet for a long while before Sollux nodded. "Yeah, okay." he mumbled.
Karkat stayed with him until he was calm, then stood and left.
Sollux thought about it as he made his way towards Aradia's hive. He'd never known someone who would stop to help someone they weren't exactly friends with before, so Karkat's actions were completely lost on him. But he couldn't complain about it either.
When Aradia opened the door to her hive, she frowned at the tear tracks on Sollux's face. "Y0u've been crying," she said, her own sorrow at the fact hiding in her words. "Why?"
Sollux shook his head, pulling her into a tight hug. "Iit doethn't matter now," he responded quietly.
Aradia blinked before she smiled and returned the hug. "I'm glad y0u're here,"
And this is probably terribly out of character. I just wanted to write something...anything.
