Sasuke crouched on the floor, eyes darting wildly around the large hall as a ring of robed and masked men surrounded him, hands clutching long sticks and waving them furiously.

Freaks.

He stayed in the defensive stance, close to the floor as he reached for the katana that was strapped onto his back. He'd be done with the weirdly dressed men within seconds, but he suddenly noticed a figure, smaller than the rest, descending through the crowd. His muscles tensed.

"Leave him." The man hissed, and instantly, the stick waving stopped, crowd stepping back in fear. Unlike the others, this man's face was not masked, and Sasuke saw slitted eyes and a flattened nose, features that would have been attractive if he hadn't looked so much like Orochimaru. In fact, the similarities were uncanny.

He even had a snake summon crawling by his side.

Sasuke stood up, unsheathing his katana in one fluid movement. The crowd surged forwards again, and Sasuke threw a few kunai that lodged themselves firmly into throats and limbs. Despite how stupid they looked, Sasuke could tell that they were dangerous, and he quickly began the teleportation jutsu as he felt the crackling of dangerous energy building up.

And with a final hand seal, he disappeared in a puff of smoke. People were left gaping behind their masks, and one dared to ask rather incredulously,

"Just who was that?"

Voldemort looked rather distracted, not even registering the fact that he had been questioned. He hadn't believed Orochimaru when he mentioned that he had a new, prettier toy than before. But he still replied, fixated on the spot where the boy had suddenly vanished.

"Oh, just a friend of the family."
