A DAY IN THE LIFE…
Author's Notes: Have you ever wondered what your favorite Bible characters' thoughts must've been like? Here is what I think they must've been like. Journal entries of different Bible characters. It reads like a modern-day journal, using modern language and grammar. These are not in order. The first two journal entries are Tamar's.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Bible. But I do own a copy of it.

Journal Entry 1 (Tamar)
Dear Diary,
Have you seen the way my brother Amnon looks at me recently? Something fishy is going on! He's acting extra sweet and nice to me these days. Today, he put my pet horse Hannah down and turned my face away with his hand so I wouldn't see.
The other day, when I was strolling in the garden in the evening after supper, he asked me if he could join me. I'd like to think it's because of the love a brother has for his sister. And I know he loves the garden. I thought nothing of it until he stopped, picked a flower, and put it in my hair! Now, tell me—doesn't that look more like a lover's gesture than a brother's gesture? Also, he had a faraway look in his eyes—like he was in love or something! When I asked him about it, he said, he gets lost in my eyes because they're so…beautiful. WHAT? I can't help but think he's in love with me. Am I just overreacting? I'm not used to him acting like this towards me. I mean, we're talking about the guy who put a frog in my sheets here! (He even laughed as he watched me jump and scream and run around the room!) Why is he like this? He's not the Amnon I used to know and love (as a sister should love her brother) anymore.
Yesterday, as we watched the sun rising, he asked me a really, really, really, really weird question. He asked me if I had ever been touched by a man. Duh! I'm a virgin! Of course, I haven't been touched by a man. He asked me if I would want to be touched by one. I nearly slapped him! (If my brother Absalom were there, he'd beat him to a pulp.) I'm confused; I don't know what to do! This is unheard of! We'd be shunned by all Israel… Can you imagine the gossip and the rumors, Diary, if we ever married? This is absurd! If he ever brings it up again, I'll have to talk with him. Maybe talk with my brother Absalom. Or Dad. I'm sure he'll give him what for when he hears about what Amnon has been up to. I love waking up to the sounds of Amnon being scolded and seeing his ears turn red.
Goodnight, Diary. TTYL!
-Tammy
