It was his fault.
It was his fault that all this shit happened. Why didn't he see it coming? Why was he so oblivious? So stupid? Why did he deny something that was so painfully true?
It was because of himself that she got hurt. He hated himself for it. Absolutely hated... hated.... Hated who? Who did he hate?
Realization.
It wasn't his fault. He was not the one at blame. He didn't hate himself. Who was it then that fueled his anger?
Was it her for betraying him? No, it couldn't be. He loved her too much that it hurt.
It wasn't her fault. It wasn't her fault... it was...
He knew who it was. It was that bastard. That manipulative bastards doing. The informer.
It was his fault for getting everyone in the whole damned city in his little web of lies and betrayal. He looked after no one but himself. He hated the man with his entire being, his soul, his heart. If it weren't for that bastard....
And now he plans on dragging new people in only to be sent to damnation, into that darkness that seems inescapable... He had to stop him before----
"Masaomi-kun?"
The boy was brought out of his thought as his best friend called his name. He shook his head as if it would clear him of his dark thoughts and tried to put on his happy face. "Hn? What is it Mikado-kun?" he asked, raising an inquisitive eyebrow.
Mikado shrugged but Anri answered for him. "You were zoning out... your ice cream is melting."
Kida's eyes widened in shock and he flung his ice cream at Mikado's face. "Augh!! Its all over my hands! Anri-chan! Could you perhaps clean my hands for me----"
He was punched in the arm by a sticky Mikado who glared at him. "Exactly why are you my best friend again?" he asked as he wiped his hands clean of the sticky substance.
Kida laughed and put his arms around his two friends shoulders, despite their protest of 'get your sticky hands off me!'. "Because you love me... no, because everyone loves me!!!" he said happily and walked down into the busy streets of Ikebukuro.
Because after reading some of the light novels, I was momentarily a Kida fangirl and I momentarily hated Izaya's guts.
and I love the trio! Especially that one bit.... "They didn't care about all the questions pulsing through their minds. They just hopped that the other was okay"
