Ice Pudding Castle is very pretty to look in the morning light. I turn to look at my new friend, Kef-baa who has shears nestled in his hat and a piece of peppermint with a roll of sugary floof spun around it.
Kef-baa is called Kefka by his other friends, but since Kef-baa is so obviously cuter, he lets me call him that. It does help that I gave him a year's worth of multi-colored, flavored spun sugar hair bows!
"My precious, you still owe me a tour around Candy Cane County."
"Kef-baa, you have to promise not to eat the foundation of the Gingerbread house again. Dew Drop Duck was really angry with me and refused to go on our date."
"How can anyone be so mean to someone so fluffy, sweet and adorable as you?" he asks me and I'm inclined to agree. I am really adorable. Still, he promises not to eat the foundations of any houses and we set off.

Dew Drop Duck wakes me up from a very pleasant dream starring her incidentally, although I have to say that she is simply magnificent in real life.
"Your… multi-colored friend is sick."
"Kef-baa?! That's impossible."
"Apparently it's not, he's been stuffing candy in his cloak and now he's sick. Serves him right. He broke my second Gingerbread House too!"
When I visit him they tell me it is just a sugar overdose or something. He needs a lozenge so I concoct my extra-special-favorite treat.

I just know Kef-baa will be fine after eating this.
