When we see a spider we fear a sudden pinch of fear. What if it's poisonous? What if it bites me? Then our fear instigates us to kill that thing in which we fear. If the fear does not cause us to kill, then it simply causes us to ignore. Another reaction would be if the fear had become an intense phobia. Fearing leaving your home for you may see a spider. Obsessive cleaning to keep spiders from keepings webs or showing up. Does this mean that murders fear people, or fear something of the one they killed?
Johnny stood at the side of the road drinking his Cherry Sucky. Waiting for the flickering red DON'T WALK sign to turn to the green WALK sign. A few other people were waiting as well. A mother holding her screaming sons hand, her telling him to hush. A rather large man eating a donut and wearing a suit, he'd probably come from a meeting his attire said. Then another person who looked rather like he or she would blend into the simplest of societies. Staring down at the ground as though this person had seen something interesting.
Finally a car passed and the sign turned. The people started forward, the man knocking the drink causing it to spill onto Johnny.
"Excuse me?" Johnny sounded almost innocent the way he looked at the man.
The man pause and turned back to him. The person behind him hadn't moved yet. Watching the little scene with interest. "What?" He said stiffly. Still standing in the crosswalk.
Johnny inclined his head slightly to look pointedly at the empty cup. "I find it rather rude of you to knock into me and say nothing of it." He stated.
"So?" The sign clicked.
"I suppose one like you can understand." As though cued a car came up, of course now the sign had been changed to DON'T WALK and though the driver tried to stop for the man in the crosswalk the wheels screeched. And the bloody mess smeared on the road.
"Moron." The comment came from behind Johnny.
He'd smirked at the scene then turned to look back at the, now it was easier to tell it was in fact a male. Appearing to be in his twenties, though he still looked pretty young. "You say that..." Johnny sort of trailed off looking at the other man.
The man shrugged his eyes closed now. "I'm just saying if he had stepped around you and continued walking then all would have been fine. You wouldn't have to be wet, he wouldn't be dead, and the person in that car wouldn't have to pay compensation. Big mess that could have been easily avoided." He replied opening his eyes and looking back at Johnny.
"Ah, yes, that does make sense doesn't it?" Johnny replied.
"Perfectly. Of course, normally smarter people would know not to stand in the middle of a crosswalk as well." He shrugged slightly again. Like nothing had happened he turned and walked off, whistling.
Johnny Tapped his chin wondering what in the world that had been about.
