A/N: I'm not even going to fool around on this one. I know right? Seems impossible. But this was too sad and sweet to write to ruin it with my crude comedy.
The song is My Precious One by Celine Dion. I found it and this scence spun out in my head. It was so sad to write... Honestly, I'm very proud of it. I hope you enjoy it. Please review and tell me what you think!

The long grass swished in the quite breeze. The only light out in these fields was provided by the silver moon. Bright red stained it's tawny blades, for the battle had come to an end.
Among the thistle like grass was a young blonde, his gold hair stained with his own, and others blood. His navy blue uniform seemed far too out of place in the golden field, studded with a few military tags, and stained with blood and rips. A silver chain shimmered out of his pocket, marking his rank in the hellish society.
His name was Edward Elric.
And in his arms, was the curled up form of a small brunette girl.
She seemed no older than 7. Small, and so innocent. Too innocent for such a fate. For she, too, was covered in blood. All of it, her own.
Edward held her closely. It was the very least he could do; give the child comfort in what would soon be her very last moments of life.
'Another one,' He thought 'Another one I just couldn't save..." He stared into her beautiful blue eyes, like shinning crystals. 'Too young... much too young...'
She blinked up at him. Her mouth moved, a small trickle of blood streaming from her soft, pink lips. She licked it away, and stared up at Ed. She blinked again, and closed her eyes lightly, sighing as if she knew what was happening...
That's when the blonde felt a strong pang in his heart for the girl...
...and started to sing to her...
"My precious one, my tiny one, lay down your pretty head."
"My dearest one, my sleepy one, its time to go to bed."
She blinked her crystal eyes open again, staring at the young alchemist in slight suprise. Then she lightly closed her eyes and snuggled a little closer to him. She felt light tears stain her cheeks as she did.
"My precious one, my darling one don't let your lashes weep."
"My cherished one my weary one it's time to go to sleep."
'Sleep indeed. One that you'll never awak from...' Edward thought sorrowfully, but he kept in tune through his own hot tears of regret.
"Just bow your head and give your cares to me."
"Just close your eyes and fall into the sweetest dream...cause in my loving arms..."
"...Your safe as you will ever be so hush, my dear, and sleep..."
The girl's breathing had become more even, not with death, but with the promised sleep. 'A better way to go...' Ed mused. 'She deserves to sleep.. just one last time...' He took a small breath and continued to sing softly to her.
"And in your dreams you'll ride on angels wings."
"Dance with the stars and touch the face of god..."
"And if you should awake.."
'You won't...'
"My precious one, my tiny one, I'll kiss your little cheek..."
He did, pressing his lips to her soft, so young, cheek...
"And underneath the smiling moon... I'll sing you back... to sleep..."
As his singing quited, the girl sighed once more, a light smile powdering her lips, and slept...
Forever.
