Naruto and the Really Big Sword
"It's just a poor rabbit, Naruto! Look what you did!" Sakura continued to screech, pointing a finger over at the kunai embedded in a tree a spare few inches from the head of a scared looking, white rabbit.
Naruto gasped, and hurried over to the hyperventilating rabbit – grabbing it and hugging it empathetically while muttering apologies. However, Kakashi had other things on his mind.
That's a snow rabbit... the sensei thought, eyes narrowed as he looked at the shivering rabbit in Naruto's arms. But it's summertime... It was bred indoors, in little light. But it could be used for only one purpose. A replacement technique. So our adversaries are already here.
"Sasuke! Sakura! Naruto!" Kakashi said sharply. "Stand up; we're leaving now."
Said students looked confused, but followed Kakashi's orders obediently, even Naruto, who was still sniffling a bit over the rabbit. Naruto stood, letting go of the rabbit which bounced back into the trees.
"Why are we leaving, Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura asked.
"We have a mission to complete," Kakashi said, still looking around himself attentively, "-and we're just holding it up. C'mon, let's move out."
"That's right, squirts!" Tazuna agreed. "I'm the one paying for this, and I don't need protection from bunny-rabbits!"
A bit angry at the not-so-indirect insult, Naruto stood up and faced the the bridge builder with a foxy glare.
"Hey, I love animals-" he started, but he never got to finished the sentence. Kakashi's eyes widened as he felt a change in the wind.
"DUCK!" He yelled, falling to his knees immediately. Without a thought, Tazuna, Sasuke, and Sakura followed suit – hitting the dust.
"Where!" Naruto yelled excitedly.
And he was decapitated.
