Far in the Northern parts of Kilkorest was a lone city that sat on of the edge of the aurora coast called Seawell. Once upon a time the city was once a thriving port town but after the great cataclysm the entire North froze even the great Jungle of Khud-Alika. Now all the creatures and plants of the jungle have been crystallized in to a deadly masterpiece inhabited by evil spirit, ghosts, and ghasts of all sorts, but the past is for another time for now will be told a story of the present.
Roy sat in the midst of piles of books and papers in a dusty room. Roy has slick black hair and is short slender and by the look of him pretty fragile but if you got on his bad side he wouldn't hesitate to rip your throat off.
The reason that he was wasting his time reading was that ever since he heard the story of seven cities of gold that flew in the sky he had been obsessed. So six months ago he began his search for something but to his dismay the only thing that he found out about them was that an expedition was sent to find them but never returned.
"Frustration," yelled Roy at nothing in particular. Getting out of his chair he walked to the double doors leading to the library. In a huff Roy kicked open the doors taking the librarians assistant full in the face. She let out a pitiful yelp, blood sprayed from her broken nose as she fell to the ground in a heap.
"Watch it Hannah or next time you might not be so lucky," grumbled Roy as he stepped over her walking away towards the front of the library.
Crying, Hannah tried to respond over the flow of blood but it just came out as jumbled incoherent noise.
As Roy stepped out side he saw the usual mess of people milling around in the cold streets of Seawell also the occasional carriage. Then he felt an odd felling that he hadn't felt in a long time that off his wallet being pilfered. Punching out to his right he took the thief in the face knocking him off his feet. Roy spun smartly on his heels facing the thief shiv sliding from his sleeve making a glories ring. The man lay on the ground clutching their face as blood poured freely from the wounds.
"What is your name thief and do not try anything or the next thing you'll feel is this blade plunging into your face," Roy said to the thief. As though unaffected by the blood poring from the thief's face he stood and to Roy's surprise was a woman. She kicked her foot up between Roy's legs making him drop to the ground writhing in pain.
"Thanks for the money," said the thief before dashing off into the city letting Roy lay gasping for breath on the ground.
After a few minutes Roy Sat up cringing from the pain then without a word sulked off to his apartment, flat broke. Roy opened the door to his messy two-room apartment. Not bothering to undress Roy slipped into bed quickly finding rest. Though he slept Roy was plagued by dreams of flying cities and something dark always lurking out of sight and of strange people there demeanor seeming strange almost bizarre with even more bizarre clothing unfit for northern traveling yet a feeling of companionship came upon him when he saw them.
