Author's note: Just having a bit of fun here. (Not really) Ever since one of my friends found out I got a fanfic account, she's been asking me to do something Hunger-Games related. So I guess you could say that this is dedicated to her. Sort of.

Call it a poem. Call it a short (and vague) rhyming story. Whatever. I was just happy to get the words to rhyme.

Anyways, I definitely don't own any of these characters.

I am Katniss Everdeen,

But now I'm the Mocking-Jay.

I'm the best hunter ever seen,

Only to use my bow to slay.

The Hunger Games were coming.

My sister was called up for debut.

"No!" I ran up screaming.

"I volunteer as tribute!"

I knew I was going to die.

But then my Primrose cried,

"Tell me you will at least try!"

Without those words, I think I would've died.

The Careers were strong...

I was weak...

None of us would live for long.

Victory is all we would seek.

But he was there.

The boy with the bread.

"I love you." He said holding my hair,

Knowing that soon we could be dead.

And I played along.

Trying not to get into a froth.

So I sang him a song,

Knowing one kiss equals a pot of broth.

Then it was just us two.

But there only could be one...

I looked at the skies blue hue,

And knew what had to be done.

There would be no victor this year...

Peeta and I would eat some nightlock.

So we both swallowed our fear...

The audiences' necks did our way cock.

But now I was in trouble.

I had to love Peeta, my life depended on it.

I was sinking in an imaginary mountain of rubble.

But I kind of liked Peeta a bit...

But now I am the Mocking-Jay.

I am the girl on fire.

Forced to keep the Capital at bay.

But the situation was dire...

Poetry, not my strongest suit. Anyways, I hoped you liked it! Total Nerd Girl out!
