Draco Malfoy was the worst person to have to buy a birthday present for. After all, what does one get the wizard with enough galleons to buy himself a small country?

A new broom perhaps? Forget it; he just bought himself the Nimbus 5000, which won't even be released to the public for another three months.

Brand new Wizard's Chess pieces? Try again. His set is from the Founders' time and is priceless. Not to mention he doesn't really like to play. It gives him a headache.

Quidditch World Cup tickets? He has a lifetime reserved box, but nice try.

Restock his potions ingredients? His godfather is Severus Snape, as in the foremost Potions Master in the Wizarding World. He doesn't need any more potions ingredients for the rest of his life. Are you even trying to come up with something good?

Birthday sex? That's a given. Don't you dare try to say that's his present. I'm ashamed you would even think that.

Three hundred-year-old Ogden's Finest? Now you're on the right track… if you were a mere acquaintance who doesn't really know him that well instead of his wife. Come on Hermione!

It was exhausting, really, to try to find the perfect birthday present for one Draco Lucius Malfoy. Granted most things exhausted Hermione lately. For the last couple of weeks she had alternated between sleeping in her bed and sleeping in front of the toilet. She could tell that Draco was getting worried about her being sick but she refused to go to the doctor. It was probably just Wizard's Flu.

Then it hit her, she didn't have the Flu, how could she have been so blind? A quick spell would tell her if she was right, and oh, how she hoped she was. Draco would be so pleased and she could stop looking for a birthday present for him as well. It was a win-win situation!

Draco's birthday had gone spectacularly, the party was a success and he'd thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of his old friends. Hermione loved seeing him so happy and she couldn't wait to give him his present later that evening.

As they cuddled together in bed that night Hermione asked Draco if he'd had a good time at the party.

"Of course I did, love," he replied. "It was perfect."

"That's wonderful Draco, but there is one more present that I've yet to give you."

"Oh," he asked, "and what would that be?"

"Well you are going to have to wait to find out. It won't be here for a while. About another nine months I'd say."

At first, Draco looked baffled. How could something take nine months to deliver? Then he realized exactly what took nine months to arrive and the smile spread across his face in an instant.

"Love, that is the most wonderful present anyone could ever give me. Thank you so much."

He held her close that night and thanked Merlin for the wonderful gifts life had given him.
