Chapter 1
There she was again
There she was again, hanging off his arm. Resting her head on his shoulder as the group talked; sharing experiences others had missed in the few months apart. Dean had been backpacking throughout Europe and Lavender had recently got a now job, doing what though Hermione wasn't sure as her whole being was too consumed with the sight of Ron and the unnamed blonde girl.
The first time Hermione had seen them together was Christmas. She was shopping with one of her childhood friends in the small muggle town she had grown up in and when they entered a small café at the end of the high-street, there they were in the corner, holding hands across the table while their drinks slowly went cold in front of them. Hermione quickly excused herself and went into the bathroom where she simply sat on the toilet lid and refused to cry, she was stronger than that she told herself. How could he though? This was their place - this was the first place Hermione brought him when she took him to visit where she grew up and he knew how much this otherwise insignificant café meant to her. This was her thinking place, her quiet place where she could clear her mind whilst reading a book and drinking tea or hot chocolate or whatever she was in the mood for but now all she could think of when she reminisced about that café was Ron and the unnamed blonde girl breaking her heart.
The second time Hermione saw them as a couple was the Weasley's New Year party. Hermione arrived early to help set up and was looking for Ron all night but to no avail. He finally turned up with only an hour to midnight claiming work finished late but Hermione saw the lipstick stain on his chapped lips. As she was one of his best friends and it would be viewed as strange if she didn't, she politely greeted him, smelling his all too familiar scent as he embraced her but before she could inquire about the girl with flowing blonde locks, George threw a can of butterbeer in his hand and dragged him away. That night Hermione plastered a fake smile on her face as she brought in the new year drunk without one of her best friends.
This was the third time Hermione had seen them together. The way her eyes sparkled as she spoke and the way she threw her head back when she laughed made Hermione want to be sick. And the way she never let go of Ron and was constantly in his personal space made her feel faint. Hermione watched as people complimented the girl, saying how lovely her hair was or how much they loved her outfit and Hermione scrutinized the way she replied but could find no fault; she smiled genuinely and praised in return, one of her perfectly manicured hands touching peoples arms as she spoke or clutching a wine glass but with the other hand she never let go of Ron, as if he was her accessory. Hermione wanted to break down as she watched Ron gaze at the girl with the same look in his eyes that he used to look at her with and watched as his hand rested on her waist, holding her close to him as they mingled – the same way he used to hold Hermione. Hermione finally broke and cried herself to sleep that night, alone in her bed with no one to hold; dreaming of Ron and the unnamed blonde girl.

So anyway, I hope you're enjoying this story so far and I promise to update by, at most, the end of November (I'm so bad at updating, sorry xx).
