Her Hero
His hand was cold
All life was gone
She placed a kiss upon his lifeless lips
And watched as they carried him away
No longer would she see his smile
Or hear his velvet voice
The one that her heart flutter
Nor would she ever see the twinkle in his eye again
He was her soul mate
But now he was just a corpse
She spun upon her heel and walked away
Tears falling like rain off her cheeks
When he was laid to rest
She cried endlessly
Hugging her friend close
She stood tall
Looking at everyone
She spoke of the man that stole her heart
The man that sacrificed himself
so she could live
There was not a dry eye
As she spoke of her love for him
Their love was still burning
As she said her final goodbye
