The Ice Climbers were enjoying their time in the frosty Summit, with the duo simply taking in the cool sights of the freezing mountain after having climbed all the way to the top.
"Hey Nana," Popo said as he turned to Nana, winking while raising his mallet. "You wanna do... something fun?"
"Like beyond just climbing up snowy mountains and mashing ice with our old wooden mallets?" Nana responded as she smiled, stretching her arms while letting out a muffled fart. "You read my mind. What is it that you wanna do?"
Popo chuckled as he rubbed his gloved hands. "Oh, you're about to see, my sweet twin sister..."
"...I thought I was your girlfriend," Nana spoke as she squinted her beady eyes.
Popo was going to say something, but frowned as he had to think. Unfortunately, neither Ice Climber got to do anything, as a polar bear in pink shorts accidentally fell on them from falling off a glacier, causing all three to fall into the cold, freezing water, drifting off beyond the tundra. Nana managed to reach the infamous manor of the Smashers, where she spotted Waluigi smashing various snowmen with items themed after playable characters.
"And this is for putting stage hazards on those stages!" Waluigi snapped as he broke apart the last snowman, turning around to see Nana getting onto the snowy surface as he placed away his purple tennis racket. "Eh, what's with you?"
"Oh Mr. Purple Tennis Man, I need help!" Nana whimpered as she was panicking in her boots, sweating nervously. "I lost Popo and I can't get him back!"
"Hold on there." Lyn said as she popped up out of an assist trophy capsule, approaching the panicking Ice Climber as she bent down. "You said your partner is missing?"
"Yes! I was up on the Summit with him, but he slipped into the water and now I can't be able to get him back!" Nana exclaimed as she began sobbing.
Waluigi and Lyn exchanged glances with each other as they wondered what to do, with Waluigi really not wanting to be involved as Lyn felt the need to help out a female who was clearly in need of help.
"I think she's legit worried. We should help," Lyn suggested while brushing back her hair.
"And why should we give the benefit of the doubt for her?" Waluigi scoffed as he shook his head, flailing his arms about. "Heck why should I pitch in? I don't care about her!"
"Because being nice will pay you back in a good way." Lyn said as she placed her right hand on Waluigi's shoulder. "Don't you realize how much that can go?"
Waluigi groaned as he shook his head, glancing back at Lyn after surveing the crying Nana. "All right, but I'm not going to like it..."
Lyn laughed at this as she went to reassure Nana, who squealed with delight as she grabbed the two taller humanlike beings by their arms.
