That Night After the War

Sooo…hi guys! This is my first fic so please have some mercy with comments. Well that's about it. I'm just gonna start the story now. BTW, this fic happens after the Giant War.

Disclaimer: Rick Riordan owns the characters, I'm just gonna borrow them.

Percy's POV

It had been sometime since the Giant War. Well a lot had changed since the War. Mostly good changes. Jason was literally rocking back and forth from one camp to other to build those shrines. Piper and Annabeth were still trying to repair the damage that happened during Gaia's waking. Frank and Hazel had gone back to the Roman camp with Reyna. Nico told me after the Giant War that I was not his type. Humph! I can be any type I want to be. Not his type, yeah sure! Leo….well it's best to think that he is happy in Elsiyum

I was just getting ready for bed. I missed the Roman camp, but it was good to be back home. I yawned loudly. Oh come on, just a little more time? But my body won't budge. Fine! I'll sleep. As soon as my head hit the pillow, my eyes started drooping. Before I knew it I was out cold.

I woke to an instant sound of knocking. Actually more like thumping on my door. I immediately grabbed Riptide and started walking towards the door. The thumping grew louder. Is this some ghost? Is it a monster? Or was it a harpy? Finally opening the door little by little I find that it was neither. It was something even worse.

Annabeth. Crying her eyes out.

Instantly I wrapped my arm around her. She broke down even further. Gods, this was gonna be a long night. With great difficulty I convinced Annabeth to come inside. When she did, she just collapsed on the floor. I knew what the problem was. Both Annabeth and I had been thrown into Tartarus. It wasn't the best experience ever. I still have nightmares about that place. It gives me the creeps. Well back to Annabeth. I picked her up and brought her over to my bed. And then her eyes met mine. Those usually cloudy and calculating grey eyes were now shimmering with water inside them. I instantly felt like killing Tartarus. But I decided otherwise. I hugged her instead. Held her in my arms and ever really wanting to let go. Finally those sobs started subsiding. Giving a small smile to myself and a mental pat on the shoulder, I came out of the embrace to notice that Annabeth had fallen asleep. After laying her down on the bed, I slipped in too. Just as I was about to doze off, a small voice said, "Thanks Percy, for always being there."

I groggily opened my eyes and said, "I'm always there for you, Wisegirl."

I opened my eyes to see grey eyes looking into mine. I instantly remembered last night.

"Good morning, Seaweed brain! Good to see you awake at last. Come on get going to your classes now."

"Hey, but what about breakfast?"

"You slept right through it. Now come on get up!"

"But I'm hunggrryyy….." I whined like a little boy asking for a racing car.

"I might be able to find you something. But that is after you get up."

In a blink of an eye, I was out of the bed. "Lead the way, Wisegirl."

"That is an extremely stupid nickname, Percy. Try to think of something smarter."

Oh but that is part of our daily rants. That's boring.
