Milla stared in disbelief at the thing. It was definitely a necklace. It was meant for her. It was from Sasha. It was silver and brown. That was all she could definitively say about it that could not be considered a matter of opinion.

Now for the opinions.

The pendant was simply ugly. It was square. It was brown. It was some kind of murky, splotchy stone. Around it, dangling from the knobbly silver chain, were small brown and silver beads.

She restrained a sigh.

He had tried, that much was obvious; but whatever had possessed Sasha to pick such a gross necklace?

"Sasha, darling, wherever did you get it?" she smiled convincingly.

"Actually..." he flipped that one strand of hair out of his face, looking a little embarrassed. If he ever, ever blushed, he would be doing so.

Oh gods. He'd made it, hadn't he. This was going to be just that much harder. She had planned to be tactful, sure, but under these circumstances all the tact in the world would be required.

She was frantically trying to think of what to say when a familiar voice behind her interrupted her train of thought.

"Agent Vodello... Don't look up." Raz, his voice dripping with vocal smirk, had sneaked up on them.

She looked up. So did Sasha.

When she looked back at him, he was blushing. Actually blushing. The only time she'd ever seen him blush before was when, after falling from a burning building, they had landed in... a quite embarrassing position.

A slight smile crept onto the Mental Minx's face.

Then, before her partner could do anything else, she darted forward and kissed him. To be brief, it was.

Disbelieving, he pressed a hand over his own mouth, then flushed even more deeply. (It did look a little strange on that green skin.) She giggled internally.

She sent Raz a mental message: thanks.

Though she couldn't see him, Raz was surprised; after all, it had been a slightly cruel prank.

She looked down at the hideous necklace again. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all. She could probably find something to match it-- and if she couldn't, she'd darn well go buy something.

"Thank you, Sasha." she beamed. "It's exactly what I wanted."

...not a complete lie.

But someday she would get Razputin back for his little mistletoe illusion.

Wow, no mile-long intro this time. Yes, the mistletoe was an illusion. X3 Milla already knew. Sasha never suspected.
