Bella's POV:

I sat staring at the wall for hours waiting. Edward had told me that he was going to be late, but I didn't realize what those words actually meant. Those words meant waiting for hours on end after Alice had poked and prodded me with beauty supplies for 2 hours. Sometimes I really hated Alice.

After Alice finished with me, I sat on Edward's bed waiting…..and waiting…and waiting. I had closed my eyes in hopes of getting some sleep before he arrived home, when suddenly I felt two cold, stone arms surrounding me.

"Hello my love. I haven't awakened you, have I?" I felt him whisper in my hair. I giggled and turned around to face him.

"Of course not. Not that I would have minded!" I said, mostly to myself. I sighed out of contentment and relaxed in his stone embrace, when I felt myself being lifted off the bed and taken downstairs.

"Edward! What are you doing?!" I giggled into his ear.

"I thought you might be hungry, so I made you something special."

I looked down at the table where he had placed me and saw a table set for two, with candles lit and food spread out all over the table.

"Oh, Edward! Thank you so much. I love you." And at this I snuggled more into his embrace.

"You're welcome Bella. I love you too." He stated simply, kissed the top of my head, and placed me in my seat carefully.

I watched Edward walk around the table gracefully and sit down across from me. I still didn't understand why he wanted me of all people, but I was so thankful for his love nonetheless.

I noticed him fidgeting with something in his hand, but cautiously started to eat my dinner (perfect of course) anyway. He seemed slightly anxious and nervous as I watched him. At this I reached across the table and placed my hand over his. He looked at me and smiled crookedly and sighed.

"Bella," he started, "You now I love you, and want to be with you for, well, forever. Well, I was wanting to know…..what I'm asking is…..can I…..wait, no. What I'm trying to say is, well…… do you want to marry me? I mean, would you, like to, you know be husband and wife, with the big party, and all the decorations, with me?" He said while taking out a brilliant engagement ring.

I must have stared for a few minutes because I heard him apologize and place the ring back in his pocket and slowly walk away from the table.

"Wait!" I cried suddenly. "Edward, really?! Do you mean it? Only if you want to though. I love you more then anything! What I'm trying to say is, YES!" I struggled to say through my sobs of joy.

At this, he smiled and placed the ring on my finger. I looked down and gasped at the clarity and cut of the diamond.

With this, I looked up at Edward and leaped into his arms. Both of us laughed and I closed my eyes as he twirled me around the kitchen. When he finally placed me on the floor, I looked up into his eyes and kissed him lightly on the lips.

It started out slow and quickly became more and more passionate. I weaved my fingers through his hair as I felt his hands slide down to my waist. Suddenly he sighed and allowed me to breath. I leaned into his embrace and sighed.

Edward was defiantly worth the wait.
