A Change of Heart,

or is it?

Tenchi woke up to the sound of Rioko calling his name. "Tenchi, oh Tenchi!"

"No, it's too early in the morning for this!" whimpered Tenchi. "Washu?!" exclaimed Tenchi as a tired looking Washu appeared from the ceiling. "What are you doing here? And how did you get in my room?! I got enough problems with Rioko."

"It that anyway to treat someone who can make your life a little bit easier?" asked Washu in a mocking voice.

"Ye... what? How can you make my life a little bit easier?" asked Tenchi. "Oh, and, how did you get in my room?!"

"Duh! I used and intergalactic portal just like Rioko does, but of course more advanced."

"Washu get out! Why are you being so annoying?"

"I wanted to help you." cried Washu.

"How?"

"Well, if you would shut up, I would be able to tell you now wouldn't I?"

"Okay, I'm sorry Washu, now could you please tell me what's going on?"

"Okay. In my recent studies, it is known that males chase females, but in studying Rioko, this is not always true."

"What do you mean? " asked and annoyed Tenchi.

"Rioko chases YOU, not the other way around."

"So, how will this help me?" asked Tenchi in a sarcastic voice.

"If you chase Rioko, then Rioko will get bored and move on to some other poor pathetic soul."

"I pity that poor pathetic soul."

"So do I," exclaimed Washu, but still not seeing the reaction she thought Tenchi would have, she decided that he didn't fully understand. "Tenchi?"

"Yes Washu?"

"To get Rioko to stop chasing you, you have to pretend to LIKE Rioko."

"What?!" cried Tenchi, and jumping out of bed. At that moment Washu burst out laughing. Seeing the confused look on Tenchi's face, Washu pointed to his lower body. Tenchi looked down and quickly covered himself up, blushing furiously. Washu all the time laughing hysterically.

"Explain?" asked Tenchi when he got settled down.

"Like I said, if you chase Rioko, Rioko will get bored cause she's not chasing you. Therefore, she will move on to..."

"Right, right. I remember;the poor pathetic soul. Okay, now i've got it. Thanks Washu. Now get out of here so I can get dressed." At these words, Washu made an even bigger grin, then burst out laughing.

"Get out of here!" cried Tenchi.



Tenchi went down stairs. He smelled the delicious breakfast Sasami had made, and was anxious to enjoy the meal. On his way down, he thought, "At least I don't have to mess with Aeyka, seeing she's out of town, or more like out of the planet. Yes! Hey, this would be a perfect time to put Washu's plan into action.

"Riokooooooooo. Come here my darling."

Rioko popped out of nowhere. "Yes Tenchi?"

"I thought I'd share my delicious breakfast with you."

"Tenchi?"

"Yes my sugar muffin?"

"Are you all right?"

''Of course my soul mate.''

''What's wrong with you?'' Washu just started giggling.

''Oh nothing.'' Washu said in an extremely high pitched voice, and had suddenly become very interested with her eggs.

''Weird!'' exclaimed Rioko.

''Don't you want to spend every aching moment with me, Rioko?''

''Ummmm."

"Hey,let's sail away together. Just you and me. Soul mates for life. Doesn't that sound romantic Rioko?''

''Ummmm.''

''Isn't this what you wanted?"

Rioko looked at Tenchi funny, and then cried, "You're confusing me!" and ran out to the carrot garden to be with Rio-oky. Sasami stood there and did nothing but blink, and Tenchi collapsed on the floor.

Washu got up, leaned over Tenchi, and wispered to him, ''When Aeyaka comes back, you'll have to deal with her.''
