She'd lived her life by one phrase, the phrase that right now was most important. 'In a moment of doubt take it back to the beginning and it'll all become simple again.' Never before had her favourite quote been so applicable to her situation, rather than a moment of doubt it was more a wall of doubt that was constantly put in front of her.
She was having an affair with James Hathaway while everyone else laboured in the thought that she was happily married. Doubt was a recurring feeling now and had been in the months since embarking on their affair but so had a feeling of burning love. The doubt was a feeling she was fed up of now.
Taking it back to the beginning was easy because they were the reasons she fell in love with him in the first place. For a while things all became simple again but new doubts often crept back on her.
It was now a question of reassessing those doubts of breaking this off, the latter being something she wouldn't let happen.
