"Brian you look terrible mate." Gerry said as he looked over at Brian who was sat at his desk.
"He's right Brian, you don't look well. Are you sure you should be here?" Sandra asked him.
"I'm fine, just didn't sleep so well."
"We're only waiting for forensics, go home if you want." Sandra pushed.
"I don't want to go home."
"Have you and Esther had an argument?" Gerry asked curiously.
"No we have not, if you must know I think my house is haunted." Brian told them as the two of them burst out laughing. "I didn't think you'd take me seriously."
"You're damn right we wouldn't." Gerry said through giggles.
"Why do you think you're being haunted Brian?" Sandra asked as she tried to decide whether this was nutty even for his standards.
"Pictures go flying across the room, Scampi starts going mad randomly…"
"You can't use the fact that you're dog isn't right as proof that you're being haunted." Gerry continued laughing as he spoke.
"He's having training. Anyway doors are flung open, taps randomly turn on."
"So you were too scared to sleep?" Sandra asked.
"No, I've been ghost hunting…"
"I wish I hadn't asked." Sandra sighed knowing that that wouldn't be the end to this.
"You can't hunt something that doesn't exist." Gerry pointed out.
"Well what do you think happens when we die?" Brian asked the annoyance clear in this voice at the fact that neither of his friends believed him.
"I don't know but we sure as hell don't become ghosts who go around haunting others."
"Well I'm being haunted and I'm enjoying trying to catch the ghost."
"What are you going all Most Haunted?!" Sandra asked as a funny picture came into her head, she'd been determined to stay out of this conversation but the direction in which it was going was making it hard.
"No Sandra, that's just what they do for the cameras, they have none of the correct equipment and you can't talk to a spirit unless it's given you a sign that it's okay with you being there."
"Equipment?" Gerry laughed. "You're not serious."
"I got my kit through on Friday."
"And let me guess, you've caught nothing?" Gerry guessed.
"Not yet but I'm still learning, you'd never be able to cope with the patience aspect."
"I wouldn't be doing it in the first place."
"So you've been up all night ghost hunting?" Sandra asked to clarify.
"Yeah, it's enjoyable and they're mostly out at night. You get a sense of helping others from doing it."
"Do you know what Brian, I've changed my mind, Find some work to do!"
