This is my very first chapter story. I kinda got the idea from hearing the story of how my parents fell in love. It probably won't be too good of a story so I'm not sure if I'll continue it. This chapter is pretty much just a preview. Tell me if I should continue it please!
The Love of a Man
"The very first day I saw her I knew I wanted to love her and have her as my wife."
[Neji POV]
Chapter 1: Wanted
It was the summer of my thirteenth year. I was wandering through the crowded market streets of Konoha looking simply to get away from the confines of the Hyuuga compound. What I was not looking for was my future wife and yet she was what I found. Passing by a simple little house squeezed in among the other buildings, I saw her. With sun-dried mud caked into her brown hair buns and stains decorating her worn and plain pale-pink cheongsam and white apron, she gave off an aura of grace and happiness. Her beauty caught my attention but what kept me watching for hours on end from my hidden place across the street next to a fruit cart was the bright and lively way this unknown girl carried herself.
I came back day after day for the next few weeks to observe the young woman from afar hoping to learn more about her. She seemed about my age yet she performed the duties of a grown woman, taking care of her whole family. I especially loved watching the girl cook. The glint of utmost confidence and excitement in her chocolate brown eyes as she swiftly minced raw vegetables and handled sharp knives only attracted me more. Through pure observation my eyes took in every little detail of her as I could. I noticed every slowly developing curve of her body. I noticed her habit of brushing loose strands of her hair behind her ear or how she would always scold her reckless little brothers and sisters and then hug them tightly and shower them with tender kisses.
I wanted this girl. She was sweeter than anyone I'd ever met. She was more beautiful than any of the girls my mother had shown me as potential wives. She was an angel in my eyes and I hadn't even uttered a word to her.
Author's Note: hmm I wonder if Neji is a little OOC. I tried my best turning my parents' story into a Nejiten fanfic but I still wanted to keep true to my parents' story. anyway, please review and tell me your thoughts. i thoroughly appreciate any constructive criticism you have to offer. thank you. -love, ellie
