Don't own FFVII... but if I owned Zack I surely wouldn't complain. XD

"Whoever programmed you was on drugs!" Zack hollered at the patrolbot that was currently bent on finishing him off.
The bot sent a sizzling bolt of electricity at Zack's head. Zack pitched himself backward, flipping out of the way just in time.
"Jeez! Watch the hair!"
His hand grew warm as he mustered a tingling ball of magic in his palm. He thrust the spell toward his adversary, and immediately a large crystal of ice came crashing down on the robot's body. The bot's orange armor split with a satisfying crack, revealing innards of tangled wire and metal.
"Hmph." Zack smiled and twirled his sword.
A spark leaped from the robot's remains, landing on and singeing Zack's boot.
He shook his head, amused. "Had to get the last word, huh?"
"What was that about?" Aerith emerged from the pile of rubble she'd crouched behind for cover.
"Its programming was buggy," Zack guessed, holding out his hand to her. "I fixed it, though."
"It looks much better," she agreed. "I'm glad you took care of it. I was scared." She bypassed his hand and looped her arms around his neck.
"Were you?" he asked. Her fingers on the back of his neck sent a pleasant shiver down his spine.
"Terrified." Her face was very close to his now, their lips almost touching. Zack breathed in the delicate scent of the church's flowers on her skin. He felt her heart beating as her body pressed into his. Then they were kissing, a long, hard kiss. Not the sort of passion one sees everyday on a public street in the slums.
Somebody cleared their throat. A man. Zack and Aerith broke apart. Tseng was standing, arms crossed, surveying the two with his eyebrow raised.
"Time to go," Tseng stated matter of factly.
Tseng shot Zack a meaningful glare before turning and heading away. Zack swallowed a protest. Sighing, he looked back at Aerith.
"I'll be back," he promised, and gave her hand a squeeze. "Love you."
She kissed his fingers and said she loved him back. It took some effort for Zack to get his feet to lead him away.
"Such public displays of affection?" Tseng questioned when Zack had caught up to him. "Schoolboy behavior is not becoming of a First Class. Don't forget who you are."
"Oh, you don't know her, man," Zack disagreed. "She makes me feel like I know just who I am."
Tseng considered this for a moment. "Don't… call me 'man.'"
