Bizarre world of Steven Universe

This story takes place after events of The Trial. White Diamond came back from her 100 year long journey where she made her dangerous experiments and is going to help her sisters. Consequences of her return are dangerous and will shed a light on the dark secrets of the past. Personalities, story, lore and some designs have been altered here. Rated T for language and references.

New story and new possibilities. I decided to create this mostly because of my little distaste about latest revelations in Steven Universe. To anyone that is interested in this story, you gotta prepare yourself for LONG waiting for next chapters or maybe not, depends on my mood. Anyway I hope it will be enjoyable enough for you to continue reading it. Have fun. Quick Note, characters in this Fanfic have high chance to be VASTLY different from originals and some of them are, like most of the events that happens after that whole mess on Trial, also I changed most of the origins in this and I added few new structures. Spoiler: No Rose Diamond here, if you don't like it then good for you, I don't care.

Steven Universe: Riddles of a True Diamond

Chapter 1
Arrival of Perfection

Planet Yamm (reference to one of my favorite games)

"How long it was?" Lapis asked herself (BTW, Episodes that were before Raising the Barn didn't happen here, they were bad in my opinion)

She didn't know anymore when was the last time she saw Steven, Peridot and the rest. Certainly few days have passed, but it already feels like years. Years of just sitting here. Lapis found almost perfect place for her hideout. This planet name is Yamm, it's covered entirely with water and it was thousands years ago abandoned by Homeworld after being used as one of the places where gems were created. Water Kindergarden, place where she was created. She was never sentimental about this planet, it just felt like the safest place to hide from Homeworld. The structure of this planet gives her enormous advantage and lets her keep barn in place by making it stand on water, she is now sitting on barns roof. Even if other Lapis were sent here, she knew that she was stronger than them, she knew that after her after her visit on Homeworld, she knows that she is probably the strongest one of them, but even then only few Lapis are left.

"Why?" She asks herself with her thought, waiting for answers. Why she was puffed like that even though she is so powerful? Why is she so powerful? Why there were only few of them left? Three unanswered questions. She thought that this was a mistake, that they couldn't do that on purpose, but... It doesn't matter. Not anymore, now she is here to hide. Nowhere to go back, no place she can call home.

"Earth is our home now." Lapis heard these words every time she closed her eyes "Isn't it worth fighting for?" And everytime they hurt her deeper and deeper.

She misses them. She misses Crystal Gems, Peridot...Steven.

"Steven..." She chokes everytime she tries to say it, she feels instant disgust with herself and her eyes starts producing water she cannot control. "I'm so...!"

Then like a lightning bolt painful feeling hits her out of nowhere, it feels like her gem slowly cracks, like she feels every piece falling, detaching, crumbling. Like the time when she was puffed and closed in the mirror, but thousand time worse. She can't even scream, but somehow she still holds barn in place even though it's difficult. Then for a moment it stops. She is on her knees, huffing from exhaustion. This pain, this feeling. She...knows..it? Her eyes start tearing up again, she feels that, she...

"She is..." Lapis tries not to scream, her mind feels like it's tearing itself apart, begs her to let it out, that painful scream building in her gem, but instead of pitiful cry, only three words escapes her mouth. "...Back. White...Diamond!"

Back on Homeworld

This part of the story starts within Grand palace of Diamond authority, titanic structure build in shape of two diamonds stuck together by their upper parts with colors that are mostly mix of purple and green, palace is levitating above bottomless pit and floats higher than the tallest buildings on Homeworld can reach. The only way to get there are gigantic, white like clearest pearl stairs on four sides of this palace, wide enough for two Diamonds to walk together on them in comfort. There are no teleports into the Palace or other ways to get in, at least none that are known for most of the gems. Stairs themselves are protected from all sides by invisible walls that serve three purposes, first one is not letting anyone fall, second is not letting anyone get on them from different direction onto them and third one is letting lesser gems know just how small they are in comparison to their leaders, Diamonds. Stairs themselves are not permanently attached to the Palace and can be detached whenever Palace has to be protected. At the bottom of each stairs are placed grand gates that are protecting the saint ground from touch of unworthy gems and alien intruders, doors themselves are filled with ornaments of past history of Homeworld, from it's beginnings to current times. From both sides of them are standing two columns in shape of Diamonds. Yellow on right side and Blue on left side. On top of the gates is ornament that represents two gems holding white orb that shines with different colors, each of them letting gems know where they can go. The most notable colors are black and white. If orb goes black they're forbidden to enter and if it stays white, they have biggest honor of stepping foot in the highest point of the palace where usually White Diamond herself is residing. But for now she is gone. She is, right...?

In one of the secret chambers of Diamond Palace

"THIS GEM DESERVES NOTHING MORE THAN BEING SHATTERED RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!" Blue Diamond screamed at her sister with tears in her eyes and between them was one little floating gem, Defense Zircon's one. Even though Blue Diamond back on the trial was trying to stop her it was for the most part to calm her down, she knew that her sister was outraged and nothing good could come out of it, but this gem, these words accusing her of shattering her beloved sister, to think that this gem could have this disgusting thought. "WHY!?"

Both of them were now in one of the secret chambers of this Palace, it was the place where they made most of their more personal decisions outside of other gems hearing, this chamber has dark purple walls and only source of light in this chamber is a window that shows beautiful landscape of Homeworld and doors that are opening when one of them has to enter, chamber has no ceiling and only thing in here is table made of this purple structure. Yellow Diamond stands by the window and Blue Diamond stands besides the wall that opens whenever Diamonds need to open this chamber, only gems that know about it's existence are their personal Pearls.

"I said it before and I say it now, we need to arrange a public trial and execution.'' Yellow Diamond answered. It was very strange for her to say it, after all she was the one that puffed her out of rage, but she knew that this case was different than shattering killer of her sister.
"WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT!" Blue diamond screamed again with extremely loud tone, it was good that this chamber mutes all the sounds from inside. "What is there to discuss!? You were very eager to execute Rose, WHY WAIT NOW!?"

"This is different than Rose Quartz!" Yellow Diamond screamed at her sister. "Listen, we both are hurt after our sister was shattered, I know how much you suffer for her lose. Maybe if I never looked forward and dealt with my emotions I would be in even deeper despair, but..."

Yellow Diamond stops for a moment and looks at Zircon.

"Don't you see? If we shatter her just like that it will look like we are silencing her, like we're admitting that she was right." Yellow Diamond explained "We both know it's not true, but other gems might think otherwise and this can be their proof, it may even lead to another rebellion and now when our resources are ending, our position crumbles, OUR WORLD IS DYING and that abomination is on the loose this is the last thing we need, another Earth."

Blue Diamond tries to say something again, but she can't find right words. Before she can think of the response a wall behind her opens. Both Diamonds look at the entrance and they see Yellow Pearl. She looks terrified.

"M...MY...MY DIAMOND!" Yellow Pearl screams, trembles and tries to make the gesture of Diamond with her hands and barely makes it. Then another Pearl enters, it's Blue Pearl, she is much more calm and stoic, but even she looks quite uneasy. "My...Diamond"

"What's wrong Pearl?" Yellow Diamond asks her Pearl with stoic look.

"What's this about Pearl?" Blue Diamond asks her Pearl

''D..dd. ..Dia..Diadia..mmm" Yellow Pearl tries to say anything, but no word escapes her mouth. Blue Pearl then comes closer to her and lays her hand on her shoulder to calm her down. It seems to work. "It's...it's about... your..."

"Your dear older sister my dear Diamonds." Someone speaks from behind Yellow Pearl. When she turns around she sees another Pearl. Her face looks just like hers, but her pearl is placed on her forehead, her eyes have colour of dark silver, her silver hair are in shape of five pointed star upside down where her head looks like it is hiding the fifth part of the star. Her outfit has light silver colour with white stripes that seems to come of her exposed white hands and feet nad are leading to diamond shaped center on her chest, (like veins in human body). She also has transparent material on her, she has it around her neck and covers upper parts of her body. She stands with her left hand under her chin and right hand on her left hip and her right leg is slightly crouched. (This Pose on pinterest, it's Jolyne Kujo pose : /pin/321655598366845258/ )

Yellow Pearl screams in surprise and almost falls on ground but Blue Pearl catches her. When she stands up she tries to keep her distance from her. Blue Diamond goes on her sister side.

"YOU! You're..." Before Yellow and Blue Diamond could end White Pearl raises her hand.

"White Pearl, most loyal servant of my beloved mistress..." Pearl speaks while making symbol of Diamond, but it feels like she is doing it more as a joke rather than sign of respect. "And your Beloved Sister, White Diamond"

"HOW DARE YOU!" Yellow Pearl screams at her and comes closer to her. White Pearl doesn't seem to notice why she is angry "YOU DARE TO INTERRUPT MY DIAMOND'S SPEECH YOU.."

"ENOUGH PEARL!" Yellow scream at her Pearl. "Don't involve yourself into it, that's my command!"

"I..understand my Diamond." Pearl answers with symbol of Diamonds and backs away.

"*giggle* Still having soft spot for Gems I presume? My Diamond told me you wouldn't change." Pearl speaks up. Blue Diamond looks with concern on her sister. She doesn't know what to say right now, everything starts crumbling down and her sister is one of those things. "Oh dear sister." She speaks in her mind.

"My feelings are no matter to discuss now, why are you here?" Yellow asks her "You, my Sister and her fleet were suppose to leave for 200 years to make some kind of experiments."

"That was what we originally planned, but My Diamond was very modest about her abilities and intelligence, most of her marvelous projects took us just 98 years, My Diamond thought about upgrading them for another 100 and ending up very difficult ones, but when we heard about what happened lately in here..." Pearl broke symbol of Diamonds and put her right hand on her gem and left on her hip "The disappointment of Our Diamond could be felt in entire fleet and after hearing about what happened I couldn't blame her, to let the killer of your sister get away, childish bursts of anger, losing so many times to four gem renegades and some of your soldiers getting on their side, we expected much more of you."

"Mind your voice Pearl! Do you know who are you speaking to!" Yellow Diamond comes closer to her. Two Pearls backs away and White Pearl remains.

"Here goes the anger bursts." Pearl nonchalantly answers

"That's enough! You will not speak like that in front of us!" Even Blue Diamond reacts and goes to her. Blue Pearl goes even farther away to the point when she's almost out of the chamber, but for some reason Yellow one remained in her place.

"Hmm, even our favorite tearjerker is standing up. What are the odds." Pearl still keeping her smile and cool attitude.

*cling*

Then she feels something. It's the blade of a spear on back of her head, when she turns around she sees Yellow Pearl again, with even angrier look on her face than before. But even with spear right next to her gem White Pearl still smiles.

"What are you going to do? Shatter me?" White Pearl asks calmly Yellow.

"I'm going to punish YOU! NO ONE INSULTS MY DIAMOND!" Yellow screams and tries stabbing her in the head "NO ONE!"

But White Pearl jumps behind her with pirouette and takes two blades from her gem (They look like sellsword blades from Dark Souls 3). Yellow Pearl attacks again trying to stab her right in her gem.

"PEARL DON'T!" Yellow Diamond screams and tries to reach them, but in that moment...

White Pearl jumps again and gently lands on Yellow Pearl's spear and kneels on it gracefully while somehow remaining perfect balance. Then in blink of an eye she points her right sword on to Yellow Pearl's gem and her left sword is right under her chin ready to penetrate her lower jaw. Yellow Pearl is stunned, like her body just froze in this moment or maybe that's her own instinct, it doesn't allow her to move by even an inch because if she did both her head and the gem would be pierced.

"*Giggle* You REALLY did not changed Yellow Diamond." White Pearl looks up. She sees yellow Diamond's hand ready to puff her with her finger. Even in that moment she is not losing her composure, she even has wider smile on her face than before, like she sees good old friend that she haven't seen for thousand years. "It's good to be back home."

White Pearl slowly stands up on Yellow Pear's spear, it's a mystery how she can do it or how it is possible that Yellow Pearl doesn't even feel weight of her, but she is doing just that. She leans closer to touch Diamond's finger with her gem, but Yellow slowly takes her hand back before Pearl can touch it. White Pearl then looks at her Yellow counterpart, bows to her and jumps of the spear with somersault in the air and lands perfectly and hides her weapons and Yellow Pearl falls on her knees, she looks utterly defeated. No word comes from her mouth, not even a single word or sound, like White Pearl killed her in this very moment.

"Pearl." Yellow Diamond speaks to her from above.

"Y...yes... my Diamond?" Pearl answers and looks up at her.

"Stand up. It's unworthy of Pearl that serves me to be on her knees like that." Yellow Diamond orders her.

"R...Right. Right!" Pearl gains her confidence back and stands up on her feet. She even slaps herself few times on the face to regain composure and stands straight.

"If it will make you feel better, you could put up a nice fight if it weren't for you getting angry and careless." White Pearl tries to cheer her up. Yellow Pearl doesn't answer "At least I tried."

"Rulers of your kind are standing right before you and you're showing no respect, you even dare to attack one of our Pearls right before us, we're Superior to you and yet even when I'm going to attack you, you don't even flinch. Why? What has she done to you?!" Yellow Diamond asked, in that moment she sounded almost like she is worried about her.

"My Diamond only enhanced my abilities not my psyche, in our Journey she taught me so many things and one of them was the Rule of Superiority." White Pearl answered

"What rule?" Blue Diamond asked

"My Diamond explained to me that truly superior are not those that are only stronger and bigger, these are only simple brutes that put the cloak of true power over them so no one can see how fragile and weak they truly are." Yellow Diamond almost loses it again and tries to puff her, but Blue catches her arm. White Pearl continues. "Being TRULY superior means that your whole being is superior to others, that means everything about you is better than the ones standing before you, your mind, your strength, your energy, your emotions. When everything about you is superior to the others to the point when they can't even comprehend being the same as you, that's when you are TRULY Superior, like my Diamond, My Diamond, OH, My Diamond!"

White Pearl suddenly starts dancing around, she spins around, jumping, from one place to the other, moving like a leave in the wind and with tears in her eyes, in a while Pearl looks like she lost her mind, her dance becomes more and more chaotic and weird as it continues. It looks like she is dancing to a music that at the start sounds beautiful, but in time it becomes a mess of random sounds. She starts making weird poses in the air and twisting her hands and legs, jump on the walls and her every move becomes more and more random. Everyone stares at her blankly while she dances around if you can even call it a dance. Diamonds and Pearls don't understand in the slightest what's wrong with her. Yellow and Blue Pearl remember her before she went with White Diamond 100 years ago on a journey, she was quite unbearable back then with her enormous ego and psychotic devotion to her Diamond (even by Pearl standards), but even then you could reason with her or understand her, she was actually quite nice when she stopped talking about her Diamond and herself, in those moments it looked like she bears great amount of pain with her, but they never knew why, but this is something completely different, It's like someone destroyed her mind completely and started playing with her like a very bad puppeteer. Then suddenly White Pearl starts talking again while her creepy dance continues.

"My Diamond is embodiment of all things I will NEVER be, no matter how much she enhances me, corrects me, her beauty, her mind, her strength, her aura, all of them will always be better than mine, her whole being screams perfection. This is the one being I truly respect, this is the one being no one will ever be. My sweet, beautiful Diamond." White Pearl finishes her dance with somersault that ends with a split right before Diamonds. Then she bends her back in the way that her head touches the ground behind her. Then she raises her head and touches the ground around her with her hands. "And She is coming here, she will be here in a few moments."

"H..how do you know?" Blue Diamond asks and White Pearl stands up and shows them her hands.

"My Precious Diamond gave me the ability to sense other beings with a touch of my fingers. With one touch I can tell where everyone are in this palace." Then she jumps closer to the doors and kneels with a smile, closed eyes and arms crossed on her chest on the left side of the doors.

*Step* *Step* *Step*

Then the sound of heavy steps fill the chamber. White Pearl's smile widens immensely, Yellow and Blue Pearl look at the doors in horror and quickly run up to them and kneels like White Pearl, but they kneel on the right side. Blue Diamond looks concerned, but not about White Diamond, but for Yellow, when she looks at her she sees anger on her dear sister's face and when she looks down she sees that Yellow is tightly clenching her fist. "Oh dear Stars and Space. You never got over it do you sister?..." Blue Diamond thought to herself. "So after all this talking about letting past go... no, I can't blame you, after all we both have our own scars. You just don't want to show them." Then Blue looks at the door again. Every step is slightly louder than the other, she is getting close. After 100 years...

At that moment sounds of steps ended, but they saw no one in the doors. Diamonds and Pearls were very confused, the only one that was not was... White Pearl. She was still kneeling, but the Yellow Pearl got up and came closer o White Pearl.

"Uh, where is she? White?" Yellow Pearl asked White Pearl, but she never answered, not even her posture changed "Hello! She is not here... HEY DO YOU..."

Then she finally notices two silver boots on the right side of hers that were between her and White Pearl. When she started looking up she noticed that suit of this gem is almost entirely white, but similar to White Pearl suit it has silver stripes all over it, but she cannot see if they're leading to Diamond shaped center due to long white scarf hiding middle of this gem's body, scarf itself is silver and has white Diamond symbols on it with four small dot around each one, there is also a long white cloak, that on the inside looks like it has image of entire cosmos on it, hundreds of little colorful dots and spirals on black background, cloak is starting from gem's shoulders that have connection to white scarf on the front side of this gem. Her arms with exception of her hands are covered with her white suit and her hands are silver. Face of hers is silver and has very close resemblance in shape to mural of White Diamond, her facial features are similar to Blue Diamond, but more beautiful and she looks more confident and stoic than Blue, her eyes are similar to Yellow, but are more feminine and they are purely white with silver, diamond shaped pupils. On her forehead is placed her gem, White Diamond and her white hair are in the same shape as her mural, five pointed star, they start from sides of her face to spread up in all directions. There is no mistake, it's her. She just looks at Yellow Pearl with a calm smile and for some reason instead of towering over her as she always did, she is now like quarter or less of her size, but even then being taller than pearl by half of her size.(Yeah, I changed design of her, I just don't like the original one. Also it's very hard to me to describe looks of a character, one of my numerous problems, if you want look for other art of White Diamond, I'm not really good at this)

"A...a...AAAAAAAAHHHH!" Yellow Pearl screamed and quickly fell on her knees and place her face on the ground. "OH, WHITE DIAMOND I'M SO SORRY FOR YELLING IN YOUR DIRECTION PLEASE FORGIVE ME... PLEASE!"

"SISTER!?" Yellow and Blue diamond screamed in surprise at the sight of her. She is so small.

"Why are you so scared?" White Diamond asks Pearl. Her voice is calm yet warm, she is speaking much more friendly than her sisters. Even though she knows White Diamond, Yellow Pearl rarely talked to her. Probably the longest conversation they had was when White Diamond wanted to play riddles with her. She lost of course. Yellow Diamond was always more hostile towards her older sister which make her Pearl stay away from her, Pearl wanted to ask her about reason of that for many years, but she never had courage to do so.

"I...I'm just surprised, last time I saw you you were... taller." Yellow Pearl raised her head to look at White Diamond. She was still smiling.

"Is this result of one of your experiments?" Yellow Diamond asked. White Diamond turned over to her sister

"It's the result of one of my revelations I had in our little departure sister." White Diamond answered confusing everyone even more. "Besides, you always wanted to be taller than me, right?"

Yellow Diamond gave no answer to that. It's true that she wanted to be taller than her, way back in the past, but certainly not in this way. Her anger was in this moment replaced with confusion and concern. Yellow Diamond couldn't tell what White was planning now.

"Oh well, if you really want me to return to my normal size then you got it." White said to her sisters.

Blue Pearl after hearing that quickly got up, took Yellow Pearl by the hand and both run away before White Diamond transformed. White Pearl just calmly backed away while keeping her head low for her Diamond. Then white light surrounded her and she grew bigger. (Again this track : watch?v=MmxNZH3zrK8 ). After the light faded away, she was again in her normal, taller than everyone form, her arms were laid on her hips, a small smile seen on her face again and with her eyes staring deeply at her dear sisters.(Similar to this pose from best character ever Gyro Zeppeli, look up his first full panel. ) ゴ ゴ ゴ ゴ She came closer to them, Blue took two steps back from her, but Yellow did not move from her position. When White was close enough she looked down at Yellow and Yellow looked up at her. Aside from White Pearl who looked at them with calm attitude and with her hands behind her back, rest of the Pearls and Blue looked at them with concern , Yellow looked like she wants to attack White Diamond in this moment and White even without making any sudden moves or giving any signs of hostility was giving of menace so strong it felt like it was filling up entire chamber, that made everyone that more concerned about Yellow Diamond's well being, much more than White's. Yellow Pearl feel not only concern, but also deep sadness, because even though her Diamond might be in danger, she can't do anything about it, she's too small and weak to even defend herself from that blasted Pearl of hers. It makes her feel completely useless, not worth of serving Diamond that gave her live.

"NO, I can't lose faith in my Diamond!" Yellow Pearl thinks to herself and looks at Yellow Diamond, her master, her superior, her light "I might be not fit to serve under you, but I believe whatever happens next, you will always conquer any obstacle that stands in your way, as you always did." Then she heard it, small laughter coming from White Diamond.

"Why are you laughing?" Yellow Diamond asks her sister in confusion

"*Giggle* If you want you can make yourself taller than me now." White Diamond says and moves her hand above her head, then she points at her neck "And get rid of that giraffe neck of yours."

"What neck?" Yellow Diamond asks

Without saying anything White Diamond takes something from her suit, it looks like some sort of dark green disk with bright green lines on it and with shiny blue ball in the middle of it. When she presses it a hologram appears and countless letters on it. With few taps, White opens some sort of gallery and shows an image of before mentioned animal. When Yellow stares at it her first expression is surprise and then annoyed anger.

"MY NECK IS NOT THAT LONG!" Yellow screams at her sister and it looks like her neck got even longer for some reason. White Diamond puts device in her suit again.

"Assume that it is, make yourself taller than me and make your neck shorter so you can look like a normal gem." White answers (Goddammit, each time I type it it sounds so racist, I'm sorry just to let you know, I don't want to bring any political bullcrap here and I'm not one of these SJW tards, blame Sugar for that)

"How?" Yellow Diamond asks her sister.

"What you do when you use your power to electrify other beings, when you draw your weapon, when you use your psychic abilities to make others feel what you do, when you want to use cor..." White couldn't end before Yellow grabs her by the mouth. She doesn't look scared or worried. She looks like she was expecting this. But Yellow looks very angry.

"I NEVER wanted it!" She starts to clench her hand on her sister's mouth.

"Sister, STOP!" Blue grabs her shoulder to get her attention. Yellow looks at her. "It's not worth it, not anymore."

Yellow seems to cool down and let's go of White's mouth. White for few seconds massages her mouth and speaks up again like nothing happened.

"So, are you going to do it?" White asks

Yellow simply nods, closes her eyes and tries to focus. She imagines herself growing, tries to see it, feel the power going trough her and tries to use it to grow in size. She feels tingling in her gem, she tries to concentrate on it and release this power and use it in a way she wants. She opens her eyes and bright light surrounds her. When light disappears, she is taller than her sister and even her neck became shorter.

*CLAP* *CLAP* *CLAP*

White Diamond claps in congratulations for her sister. Then Pearls start clapping too, even White Pearl. Blue also feels like she wants to try to do it, but then...

*CLAP* At that clap everyone stops and White Diamond begins to transform and becomes taller than yellow, basically making it look like nothing changed. Yellow looks in surprise at her sister and then tries again. It works, but then White does it again and looks down at Yellow with a smug smile. Yellow becomes angry and shrinks down to her normal size and her neck becomes long again (NOOOOO by Darth Vader). White does it too.

"WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THAT!?" Yellow screams at her sister.

"I just wanted you to practice it so it wouldn't become one time thing that you forgot how to do, but it seems your are very quick learner little sister." White Diamond answers her.

"Cut that nonsense, your Pearl said that you came back to help us. HOW!?" Yellow asks angrily her older sister

White Diamond gets her device again and turns it on and opens strange program that creates image of a straight grey line on the hologram and a small blue button appears on the device. First she presses the button. In that moment, Yellow and Blue hear some kind of sound in their heads, no, not in their heads, in their gems, it feels like it deeply echoes inside them, but then it disappears. Then White Diamond speaks to device.

"Rose Quartz." Line on the hologram vibrates on the sound of her voice. It seems to be some kind of voice chat.

After few minutes. They hear rustles and humming from the device and another voice starts speaking, but it's almost impossible to tell who's voice it is.

"I heard you my Diamond and I'm ready to take action." (replay the dark rebirth track for the atmosphere if you want, I love this track)

"Which one are you and how close you are to the target?" White asks

"I'm Leyya and I'm very close to one of companions of Rose, a human, as I recall the name of this specimen is Lars." Voice answers (yup, traitor in the group, cliche I know, but it builds up tension)

"Good, but I asked for Rose Quartz!" White answers with gritting her teeth at the last two words and seems to be losing some of her patience.

"Ah yes, yes, Rose seems to be called Steven now and he returned to earth."

"WHAT!? HOW!?" Blue and Yellow screams

"AH ah, I, I didn't know there was someone else."

"It's just my sisters, they..."

"W-Wait, s-sister, how can she even talk like that if she is close to the enemy?" Blue asks

"Every gem I met that devoted itself to me has been fused with special enhancement tied to their gems that answers on my signal, it reads thoughts of a gem that answers and creates a message, it's completely safe." White explained

"WAIT! I HEARD THE SI..." Before Yellow ended

"Do you want to hear it or not?" White asks her

"..." Yellow answers with silence.

"Continue."

"Steven returned to earth by using Lars's head after he resurrected him."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"My Diamond?" Spy speaks up after hearing no answer from anyone

"How?" White sounded surprisingly confused. Her sisters are no exception, that was probably one of the most bizarre sentences they heard in their life.

"Human Lars has been killed in the explosion and Steven used his tears to resurrect him, he became more pink and his head for some reason became portal to some kind of pocket dimension that connects itself with another specimen of the same kind on earth." Spy explained as well as he/she/it could.

"Th-that shouldn't be p-possible, no Quartz should be able to do that, only beings capable of such things are..." Blue stopped talking for a moment, it seemed like the last word stuck itself in her throat and started choking her "D...D..." A single tear starts dripping from her eye.

"Diamond." Yellow ended for her with voice colder than vacuum of space. Everyone in the room could feel the seriousness of this word. Even White Pearl seemed to be touched by it.

"NO, sister, this has to be a mistake, this has to be..." Blue couldn't believe what she heard. She hugged herself, like a half naked human on Syberia trying to protect himself from the cold.

"We will both get closer to the stars right?" past memories of her dear sister, so curious about the space "YES! MY FIRST COLONY! I'M SO HAPPY!"

"Pink."

"I can't wait to share stories about it with you." One of their last conversations "Take care big sister! I Love you!" Ended with a long hug. Even at this moment of happiness, Blue could feel tears of her little sister.

"If you ever need help, you know where to find me. Good luck." Ble said to her sister before she left, never to set her foot again on Homeworld.

"Mistake." Blue feels tears on her face and building mix of sadness and anger inside her. Yellow sees it and reaches her hand towards her. Then "IT'S A MISTAKE!"

*ZIP* A small bolt of energy comes from her arm as she attacks Yellow with anger.

"MY DIAMOND!" Yellow Pearl screams and runs towards her. She didn't know why. She knows she can't do anything, but at this moment she just wanted to do something to protect her.

Thankfully Yellow quickly tilt her head to the right and mostly avoided it, but small part of it, slightly damaged part of her left cheek and small pieces of it fall on the floor. One part almost hits Yellow Pearl, but she dodges it just in time. As she does she sees with corner of her eye that Blue Pearl took very defensive stance, like this attack was aimed on her. She looked scared, but before Yellow Pearl did anything Ble Pearl quickly regained composure and returned to her normal position. Yellow Pearl did the same thing.

"Oh dear space and stars I'm so sorry sister!" Blue feels ashamed of what she just did, again her emotions took her over, again...

"It's nothing, really" Yellow answers and touches her scar, it disappears in few seconds. "I know what you're thinking, but it's impossible, she was our sister, she would never betray us like this. But for Rose to have such power..." Yellow looks with suspicion at White, White answers with cold stare.

"Do you have anything to do with this?!" Yellow asks her

"How am I suppose to have?" White answers "You know that I've never been present on earth, neither any of my gems, there was no way for me to do meddle with anything there."

"You saying it while we're talking with your spy." Yellow says "How am I suppose to believe that!?"

"You can believe in anything you want, but whatever happened in the past is still a past. This Steven is a problem now so we either fight each other at the crumbling planet and achieve nothing or we get that traitor, execute him and cut the last string connecting us to our past and make ourselves focused on the future. Which do you choose?"

"...The latter, but we're going to have MANY things to discuss!" Yellow answers

"I imagine." White turns her head to the communicator "I'm sorry for constant delays. So you're saying that next to you stands a gate to reach our opponent?"

"Yes. Should I use it right now?" Spy asks

"No, it will dramatically raise suspicions towards you and will endanger your mission and right now target of ours is not specifically this Steven." White's words surprise her sisters

"What do you mean My Diamond?"

"The troops of my sisters will still pursue you, but now I will make sure of that they will never catch you. Find your way to earth with them and when you get the signal capture one of the Traitor Gems, choose whoever you want, but it would be very appreciated if it was Lapis Lazuli. It will force this Steven to surrender, just like he did before." White Diamond explained her plan to her spy.

"I see. But there is a problem." White lost her smile with those words "Lapis Lazuli is not present on earth."

"Oooh, how do you know Leyya?" White Diamond asked. She sounded quite intrigued.

"Steven came back after a few days with a very annoying fusion, he wanted to help Lars come back, but he rejected it. Saying that we will get to earth by ourselves, in that moment Steven mentioned that Lapis left the earth out of fear. After that he disappeared and it seems that he'll not come back for a while." Spy explained

"...Hmm, he, hehe, hehehe hahaha HAHAHAHAHA!" White Diamond burst with laughter, in that moment other Diamonds and Pearls were quite freaked out. It was very rare for her to laugh like this, it was probably first time for her in 600 years, it was very unsettling. "GOOOOOD!"

"My... Diamond?" Even her spy sounds worried

"Ah, I'm sorry, it's nothing in this case you're free to focus on whatever gem you like. When I give you the signal, you will have a day to capture this gem." White explained

"I understand, I'll do anything to do it My Diamond. Also there is one more thing..." White Diamond listens "Thank you for giving me this chance, thank you! After all these years..."

"It is as I told you, if you're worthy of salvation the universe will give you the chance to prove it" White answers with a soft tone, like a caring mother talking to her child before it falls asleep. "Don't worry, I'm going to keep my promise, I will save you from this cruel fate."

"Thank you My Diamond." With those words signal is closed by White Diamond with a button on her device. When she turns to her sisters she sees great amount of confusion and anger in their eyes.

"You have possibility to kill Rose Quartz, but you waste it to bring her BACK!?" Blue questions White.

"Of course, from what I heard this Steven is completely different from Rose, I NEED to play riddles with him." White answered and Diamonds and Pearls of theirs are left stunned.

"Riddles...RIDDLES!?" Blue bursts with anger and approaches White "MURDERER OF OUR SISTER, TRAITOR, LEADER OF BIGGEST REBELLION IN OUR HISTORY AND YOU WONT KILL IT BECAUSE YOU WANT TO PLAY RIDDLES WITH IT!?"

"It's a completely new being, a fusion of gem and another species, completely new branch of our race, of course I will!"

"You can play those CHILDISH GAMES with anyone on Homeworld! Why with this?"

"Have you forgotten? I have my own rules, one of them is to play Riddles with every new being I'm about to meet." White Diamond answers and raises one finger "But only one time, it measures how intelligent this being is in comparison to me and this new specimen, this Steven might be a very intriguing case, the ruler of entire race that created intergalactic empire testing her intelligence against first of the completely new race."

"Sister, this is just stupid. Something like intelligence cannot be measured with such rubbish!" Yellow answers

"And yet I've beaten both of you in this game and guess who created all these machines that we use, who created the base of our great empire, who managed to bring our race to age of prosperity that we would never dream of if someone else was leading this race!" White questions Yellow and she gives no answer and White Pearl silently chuckles "Accept it, if it wasn't for me we would still be like those things on earth, pretending that we accomplished anything significant when in reality we wouldn't even be able to realize that what we do is just playing with our own filth."

"..."

"..."

"It seems this conversation is over. Pearl!" White Diamond's Pearl quickly comes closer to her and makes a gesture of Diamonds. "Make sure that everything is ready, we will go on another, much shorter trip."

"Are we going to Earth My Diamond... to..."

"No, not yet, first we will visit our sweet Lapis." White Diamond answers before Pearl can end, but she knows exactly what she wants "Don't worry, we will go to Earth eventually, you will meet her again. I promise."

"Thank you, My Diamond." Pearl answers and bows to her.

"Oh, that reminds me. Sisters!" She speaks to them before they can leave "Could you please shrink down with me I have something to show you."

Then White Diamonds shrinks down. Yellow does it also, but mostly to finally make her leave them alone. Blue also tries to do it and concentrates. Meanwhile Yellow looks at her Pearl who quickly bows to her.

"You don't need to do it now." Yellow tells her

"Oh, alright My Diamond." She stands up and looks at her Diamond. It's really strange to look at her without need to look upward. Well technically she still has to, but not that much. "It's...nice to finally see you like that My Diamond, you look great."

"Thank you Pearl." Yellow answers and looks upwards and is quite overwhelmed by how everything is big now. She even starts getting some headaches so she stops looking there. "So this is how you feel whenever you look at me, interesting. It must be quite overwhelming for you, right?"

"Oh, no no no, it's not that bad, I got used to it after thousands of years serving you My Diamond, besides you don't need to stay in this form." Yellow Pearl gets quite embarrassed. "Um, th-that doesn't mean you cannot! If you want you can stay like that forever like that My D-dia.. um NO I meant that..." Before she can end Yellow Diamond raises her hand to her Pearl's face. After she stops talking, Diamond puts her hand down.

"I know what you mean." Yellow answers her and looks around, still quite unsettled by the size of this room, but at the same time she feels quite good "Hmm, I might try to do it more often, it feels, very interesting, it will also make it easier for you to talk to me, there will be no need for you to stand on my hand anymore."

"Ah yes, thank you for that My Diamond, it's great honor." Pearl out of embarrassment puts on of her hands behind her head, but when she realizes it she quickly changes it into Diamond gesture and makes her face lok more serious, which makes her look even more silly.

When Yellow looks at her she thinks about all those years this Pearl was serving her. She still remembers the day when she was created, literally one day after rebellions ended. Her previous Pearl was shattered by Crystal Gems and this Pearl was her replacement, it was hard to keep track of everything that happened, all this chaos, losing her sister and on top of that training her new Pearl, but in a weird twist, she didn't mind the last one. First few hundred years were tough, she was not the most talented Pearl, but she had this weird passion to serve her Diamond no matter what and do as well as she could for her, even when tasks given to her were impossible, when White Diamond one day wanted her to count stars on the sky. It took a long time, but she became on of the most prominent gems she ever had in terms of fighting skills, but she still needed to work on her behaviors, her posture, emotions and manners, they all needed a polish and they're still working on them, but they made good progress, she's much more collected and acts with much more thought (except for today), she knows how to behave in front of the other Diamonds and knows history and goals of their kind, but her emotional nature is still pretty troublesome and her strange behaviors whenever someone speaks to Yellow Diamond were quite distracting. Strangely enough sometimes Yellow enjoyed her emotional side, it was always a nice change to talk to her and see how she reacts, when something good happened she always answered with a smile and said something like "Nothing less to be expected from My Diamond.", when something got wrong she was trying as hard as she could to fix it and make her Diamond happy, even going as far as to beating some gems that caused this or trying to fix it herself even though sometimes she didn't even knew how. And now as Yellow looks at her and how far she go from the day when she was created, Yellow Diamond can't help, but smile a little. It was really bizarre for her.

"I DID IT!" Blue screamed happily after she finally was able to shrink down, then she looked up nad almost fell on her back, but her Pearl catched her before she fell. "Wow, it's really big chamber."

"Alright, what you wanted to show us?" Yellow asked White.

*CLAP* *CLAP*

White Pearl quick clapped two times

*THUMP*

And then this thing fell from upper parts of the chamber. It was a weird green gem, it's body was tall, almost as much as Yellow and Blue Diamonds in their current form, slim, it had very good body structure overall, it's likely that it would be quite attractive to humans (I wanted to add some attractive gems into this story, if you don't like it for some reason, tell me in the comments so I can gladly ignore you), her body was covered in dark green suit which covers her legs and most of her upper body with exception of her arms and middle part of her stomach which is probably caused by a white ring in shape of a Diamond symbol that is placed around this exposed area, this symbol also seems to be origin of strange silver strings that are on her body, there are ten of them and all of them seem to be connected to her fingers that also have little white rings on them, these strings are connected to her body like it's another part of her suit, they also seem to crawl all over her arms when they get to them, like vines around a tree, her suit is also filled with strange bright green drawings that look like vines and plants. Another thing that stood out is her face, the closest gem she can be compared to is Emerald, but it looks more feminine and she has two brows instead of one unibrow on her face, her gem is placed on her left eye and her hair are a big, green ponytail. This Gem stands with her hands crossed, her right hand pointing upwards and left pointing at her right side and showing a gesture of a devil (I think you get by now what I'm doing here, Jojo Steven Universe, also I don't know how else I'm suppose to name this gesture. It's Kakyoin pose.)

"WHAT IS IT!?" Yellow Pearl screams at creates again her spear and points it at this strange gem. Blue Pearl also draws her weapon, an axe which head is bigger than her own head and stand defensively to protect Diamonds. (Because what's better than a spear, a giant axe)

"Don't worry, it wont hurt any of us." White Diamond announces and stand beside this gem's right side, her Pearl stands on this gem left side. "It's one of our experiments, perfected gem, future of our kind, aspect-3F7L cut-4HG, please, welcome them."

This gem breaks her pose, bows and makes Diamond's gesture. She seems to be way more polite and respectful than White Diamond's Pearl.

"It's a great honor to be finally here and it's a great pleasure to finally see you My Diamond." This gem's voice is very calm (and in reverse to Emerald girly) and collected. She is not joking or sarcastic, she is respectful and polite like most of the gems are before them, but something is still puzzling them.

"3F? Is this an error?" Blue asks her older sister "There is no such thing as..."

"There is now." White answers her "What you see before you is dawn of a new era, the era where every gem of the past is fading away and is replaced with true potential of our kind. And it's all thanks to me, as always."

"Cut-4HG, I know that cut." Yellow says while she looks at horror at this gem who is still bowing to her "It's mine, my Emerald. One of the two I gave you and one of the four we both gave you."

"Interesting you remember her number sister." White Diamond says with barely heard irritation "Sadly, there are still projects I couldn't end."

"You, you..." Yellow for a moment seems to be ready to collapse, then she quickly clenches her fists and gritted her teeth "YOU PARASITE!"

*BOOM*

Yellow Diamond screams and punches her sister right in the face. The force behind it is so strong it sends White flying on the wall. *CRASH*. Yellow starts approaching her to finish the job.

"Sister NO!" Blue quickly runs up to stand between her and White, but as Yellow comes to her she just passes her by and continues walking towards White. In that moment Blue notices that mutated Emerald straightens up and spreads her hands, in that moment her strings let go of the white ring on her stomach, and become long whips attached to her fingers, they even became longer than Diamonds in their current forms, also White Pearl draws her twin swords and takes battle stance. Blue sees that they are ready to attack. Yellow and Blue Pearl stand before them to protect their Diamonds.

"STAND DOWN!" White Diamond screams and White Pearl and mutated Emerald hide their weapons. "Tch, what you're going to do sister? Hmm?"

"Something that I should do at the second I saw you!" Yellow answers and draws her weapon, a giant Halberd and points it on her.

"You can't still blame for what happened 5000 years ago, right? I mean, it can't be just about those gems that you gave me." White says and tries to get up, but Yellow with her weapon doesn't let her. "Hehehe, you do, it's funny that you blame me for all of that and you can't see that it's completely YOUR fault."

"You're the one that turns gems into monsters! HOW IS THIS MY FAULT!?" Yellow screams at her

"Hehe, don't you get it? Everything you hate me for is something that you agreed to! What happened 5000 years ago, you agreed, what happened 2000 years ago, YOU agreed, that your precious gems left with me 100 years ago, YOU AGREED!" White screams at her younger sister, even when she is looking down on her, Yellow is still as vulnerable as she always was "Admit it, you hate me, because that's the only choice you have, you hate me, because without me only person for you to hate is YOURSELF!"

After those words, Yellow Diamond just stands there, with her weapon. White feels that she wouldn't do anything now even if she got up, there would be no attack but she just waits for what Yellow has to say. Meanwhile, Blue leaves the chamber with her Pearl, it's over. There is nothing she can do, but mourn the past that should be buried long ago.

"My...Diamond?" Yellow Pearl just stands there, looking at her Diamond. She feels pain, but she doesn't cry, it's something that cuts deep, but doesn't hurt. Something just... broke, she can feel it, her Diamond, she... "My.."

Yellow Diamond hides her weapon while still looking at her sister.

"You don't how much..." Yellow stops for a moment and looks her sister in the eyes "...how much I wish it was you who Rose Quartz broke."

With that Yellow turns to leave the chamber with her head down. Stripped in this moment from any pride that she had.

"I imagine." White Diamond answered and got up. Strangely enough, she seems... sad. It doesn't look like facade, it seems like she cared for those last words. "We're going now."

"Yes My Diamond." Emerald and Pearl says in unison.

Yellow Pearl is the only one that didn't left the room. What she is feeling now is something she can't describe. It feels like mix of sadness, anger and... disappointment. Not on herself, but her Diamond. She doesn't want to feel it, but she can't stop it. She believed in her Diamond and after all of that she just... she just gave up. Finally Pearl decides to leave this chamber and go after her Diamond. At the exit she sees Blue Pearl, waiting for her wit her usual expression and her arms stuck together.

"Do you need help?" Blue Pearl asks her and reaches out to her with her hand. Yellow Pearl just nods and grabs her hand. Blue Pearl gives her a small smile and both of them wander of to go after their Diamonds.
