Five Ways Stargate Universe Could Have Ended

As Young and Rush prepared to enter cold sleep, leaving Eli to his uncertain fate, Young whirls suddenly around with an idea so crazy simple that he thinks it just might work.
"Wait couldn't two people just share a pod? You know just kind of huddle up a bit and close the door… can it really be that simple?"
Eli looks stunned like a light bulb has just shattered inside his brain.
"You know, that just might work!" Eli smacks himself lightly on the forehead, "Why didn't I think of that – for that matter why didn't you think of it, Rush?"
Rush narrowed his eyes and scowled darkly. Trying his best to hide the facts that #1 he had thought of and rejected this plan hours ago and that #2 he was very sure he wouldn't like the direction this particular conversation was likely to go.
Young beat Rush to the punch by charging the scientist, wrapping him up in a bear hug and dragging him most unwillingly into one of the two working pods. Rush of course struggled to get free, even biting Young's forearm at one point, but he was outmatched and he knew it so eventually he knuckled under.
Young looked at Eli and yelled at the stunned young man to 'hurry up and lock it down before the bastard could bite him again!'
Eli stumbled to the control panel and activated the controls thus sealing Rush and Young – locked in combat for the foreseeable future. As Eli enters the second working pod which automatically activates freezing him in as well; the camera pans from Eli's still form to Young, his arms perpetually locked around Rush who gazes out from below Young's elbow in frozen fury as the credits roll.

Young forces Rush at gunpoint to fly into a star kamikaze style and try dialing inside a star again. This time the calculations work as Rush had secretly solved this particular problem months ago, but somehow neglected to mention it at any of the daily briefings.
Everyone goes home except for Rush and Young who decide to risk staying behind, but sadly after spending some twenty years alone together they both go bat crap crazy and when Stargate personnel finally arrive to save them, they try to eat them instead.

Same as on the show except that Eli fixes the pod at the last second and immediately enters stasis only to discover the last few weeks had been a horrifying nightmare and he was actually safe and sound back on Novis with Mrs. Eli Wallace (formerly Barnes) and their son, Skywalker Wallace.

Rush with Eli's help tracks down another seed ship. Once on board they are able to program its manufacturing facilities to build them a hyper-gate – which they then use to return home.

SG-1 gates in to save the day!
