I Did It
By Joe
Summary: A poem about my long-awaited victory with Minesweeper. Blank Verse.
Author Notes: I do not own Minesweeper or any other copyrighted material.
I can't believe it.
I played this game for years.
But I couldn't even get past one or two clicks.
Before I knew it, I had lost.
The game seemed impossible to win.
I didn't understand how all my friends around me could win.
The game was too tough for me.
Obviously I wasn't doing something right.
The years passed, and I had not improved my tactics very much.
I basically gave up Minesweeper and stuck to Solitare.
I knew I'd never master Minesweeper.
It was too tough for me.
But one year, everything all changed.
It was the summer of 2006.
I was amazed at how much I'd learned in only a few months.
I'd learned the patterns of the numbers and knew where to click.
My skills were improving.
I hadn't won a game yet.
I never knew what it was like to win one – or if it was even possible.
But I was getting close.
Finally, one evening, something very revolutionary happened.
I did it.
I won the game of Minesweeper!
Yes, I thought.
It is possible to win this game!
I put my name in the Hall of Fame.
I could not believe I had done it, but I did.
I did it.
I won Minesweeper.
The End
