Outside Looking In
He stood outside the towering church doors wondering what on earth he must have been thinking.
This is stupid.
It was a beautiful day but Snape didn't notice
Why am I here?

He peered inside the stained glass window. There she was, beautiful long red hair, sparkling green eyes. Her long white dress hung off her shoulders, a dress fit for a queen. Standing next to him.
He adjusted his gaze; he couldn't stand looking at them together.
He doesn't deserve her.
But how was he, Snape, to compete with someone like James potter. Everyone had loved potter in their youth. Handsome, wonderful Quidditch player, admired by everyone…
Everything he wasn't.
Snape looked at the faces of the people in the crowd seated in the pews.
Happy
Tearful
Proud
No one noticed he was outside looking in.
Snape's eyes went back to Lily.
She hadn't known… Snape had never told her. He pretended to hate her, things were just easier that way… until now.
Of course Snape had heard the news.
A baby boy
How wonderful.
They were going to name him Harry.
He wanted so much to feel happy for Lily. She deserved it, after all the things she'd done for him. Why couldn't he just be happy for her?
"I now pronounce you husband and wife,"
Snape slipped his wand out of his pocket.
7 beautiful white flowers shot out of the wand tip.
Lilies
He set them down outside the church doors.
Maybe someday…
Maybe someday.
Lily looked outside the window and thought she saw someone standing outside the window crying, but with a second glance he had vanished.
