He was Telling the Truth

It was lunch time and Yolei, Ken and T.K were waiting for Kari to come from class. The three were relatively quiet seeing how they haven't seen each other since summer vacation broke out.

"Where is Kari?" T.K said hoping to break the ice a little.

"She should be coming soon. You know she wouldn't keep us waiting too long. She would hate herself if she did." Yolei said.

"Beside that, how was your guys' summer?" Ken asked.

"Ah, it was great. My family and I got to go to Hawaii. The weather was fantastic and the girls were very pretty," T.K said fooling around.

"So it is a shame to come back to your everyday girls ah T.K," Yolei said while elbowing him in his side.

"No that is not what I am saying," T.K blushed in a panic. The three laughed. T.K looked toward the opening of the cafeteria and saw Kari and Davis walk in. They went to grab a tray to get their lunch. When they got their lunch, T.K called out to them. "Kari! Davis! Over here!"

"There you guys are," Kari said.

"T.M! It is good to see you," Davis said.

"I see you haven't lost you charm Davis," T.K said jokingly.

"Where have you been Davis," Ken said.

"And why did you only talk to Ken this summer and not us!" Yolei yelled at him.

"Well there is a funny story to that but to make a long story short, I didn't think you guys wanted to talk to me," Davis said.

"What would give you that idea?" T.K asked.

"Well because of who I am. I realize how obnoxious I am. I cant help. But I can at least spare you the burden of hearing from me this summer," Davis said. Everyone felt bad about themselves. "Nah, I just didn't think about it," Davis said while smiling and scratching his head. Everyone fell backwards in their chairs. Except Kari because she knew Davis was being sincere and she felt bad. Her eyes begin to water and she got up and left.

"Excuse me," Kari said heavily.

" See Davis, you've gone and made Kari cry," T.K said angrily and followed her.

"Not cool, Davis," Ken got up and left.

"I knew you just didn't care," Yolei followed Ken.

"Hey,….wait," Davis said quietly. He knew Kari would know he tried to spare everyone's feelings. T.K followed Kari down the hall.

"Wait Kari," T.K grabbed her arm. She was sobbing. "Never mind Davis, you know how he is….."

"He was being sincere T.K," Kari interrupted him.

"What," T.K looked at her.

"He was being sincere. He really did feel that way. He was just thinking about us!" Kari cried. T.K just stood there feeling bad for Davis.
