There's something About Sephiroth
For the longest time, Tifa had never understood the appeal of SOLDIER.
To her, SOLDIER was a place where people went to wear silly uniforms, play with silly weapons and get injected with stuff that could kill you. She could never understand why people thought that by joining Shin-Ra's army they'd become heroes. Although she was young, Tifa had realised long ago that heroes weren't made from mako. No, what made someone a hero was something else entirely.
Hence, why she never truly understood why Cloud -and seemingly every other person in the world- Idolised SOLDIERS General, Sephiroth.
Sure his military history was impressive, and he was the only person who could wield the Masamune. But really, why would someone risk life and limb to become like him? What was it about the General that made him such a god like figure in the eyes of her friend?
The thirteen year-old decided she had to find out.
After a lot of time and effort, and confused looks from her father when she scurried up the stairs with his finished newspaper, Tifa finally caught her first glimpse of the man everyone was so obsessed with.
Goodness, he wasn't what she had expected at all.
In the young girls mind, she had imagined that, considering Sephiroth was a war hero an all, that he would be quite old, plain and grizzled, with close cropped hair and a cigar shoved in his bearded mouth. Basically an ugly old geezer, with bad breath and horrid scars.
However the Sephiroth that greeted her was... well... quite the opposite. In fact, Tifa blushed, he was rather attractive.
The man was tall, with unbelievably long silvery hair, refined sharp features and broad muscled shoulders with a chest to die for. Oh, and his eyes were the deepest shade of jade that held this strange glow to them. On closer inspection they seemed to be quite freaky looking. They reminded her of cat's eyes. Tifa figured it was the Mako, and vaguely wondered why she wasn't turned off by them.
Sephiroth? Attractive? No, in the young girls own opinion, the man was drop dead gorgeous!
She doubted that the man had bad breath, either.
Needless to say, Tifa soon found herself with a vast scrap book of every photograph of Sephiroth she could find.
So perhaps whilst Tifa couldn't understand why people would want to join SOLDIER, she could certainly understand at least half of the population's fascination with General Sephiroth.
Tifa hoped that when Cloud returned to Nibelheim a SOLDIER, he'd bring the good looking General with him...
