An interpretation of that moment when Dead!Vriska visits Alternate!John's memory bubble (if I have that right).

Short Drabble

Let me know what you think!

It was something that Vriska never did understand. In troll society protecting the weak, the lowerbloods, is unorthodox. Frowned upon. She had never known real kindness, because she would never receive it, would never give it. Blue veins pumped with the blood of a higher royalty, a being of superior strength, a race of compulsion, anger, and trickery.

In respect to that, humans are so strange. John stated that they were friends. Friendship. The troll never thought she'd find a use for such a disease.

"Then I guess I could show you around my planet."

Even as the snow began to melt, and the temperature rise significantly, Vriska continued to hug the jacket close to her, feeling the warmth clinging to her shoulders. Side by side with the John human, together in person for the first time after what seemed like sweeps of trolling and pestering and planning, she was wondering. And imagining. What if. What if they weren't both and from alternating timelines? What could've happened to them?

"That could be cool, I guess."

It didn't take her long to realize just how different this John was. He didn't survive as long as the one she knew did, didn't undergo her awesome advice and training. He didn't talk to her as much. He never laughed or joked or understood her. But he looked like the same dork, smiled like the same idiot, and looked at her with those same bright blue eyes.

Now that she was here, Vriska could see first-hand how blue they were.

"That's a...river."
"River?"
"Yeah."

She stared into the water's depths; her own blank, white eyes blinked up at her. A ghost seeing her own reflection. How does that even work? She couldn't even see the distortion of her soul or the disgusting royalty pumping-or was pumping- through her.

"Um, it's warm now. You don't have to wear the jacket."

Vriska turned to look at John, at his geeky, worried expression, and smiled.

"No. I Think I will."
