"Betty, calm down. Tell me what happened."

"I'm so mad, Christina! I went into the deli today to get some lunch and I overheard Gio talking to one of his workers. He specifically said 'I'm going out on a date with Betty'. When he saw me he suddenly stopped talking. Why is he telling people that he's dating me?"

"I don't know Betty. The wee little man was madly in love with you so maybe it's his way of coping. I remember when Stuart and I were …"

Betty screamed out suddenly, rudely interrupting Christina's sentence.

"Look Christina, there he is! Should I confront him? Yeah, I'm going to do it! I'll talk to you later."

Betty stormed up to Gio and let out all her anger.

"Gio, how dare you tell everybody that we are dating? You know very well that we were in an exploratory phase but that's over now. I want you to stop it! We can still be friends but you need to realize that we will never be more than that. We just don't click romantically."

Gio stared at her with a smirk on his face for a few seconds. Betty stared back at him, her skin flushed, her furry eyebrows raised combatively, waiting for a response. Then a pretty girl walked up to Gio and kissed him on the cheek.

"Sorry I'm late! Are you ready to go, Gio? Our reservation is in a few minutes and the restaurant is 15 blocks away."

Gio grabbed the girl's waist with one hand, her head with the other, and frenched her good. Then he pulled back, looked into her eyes and said "You're right, Betty. We have to hurry. Let's get out of here."

Gio grabbed Betty's hand and they started walking down the street. He gave a quick look over his shoulder and saw Betty Suarez still standing there with her mouth hanging wide open and tears streaming down her face. He gave a little chuckle and continued on down the road with his Betty.
