Hey! More pointless Merlin stuff today. My fics don't seem to be very original lately… I will do something big!

Merlin and Lance have a heart to heart sometime after the third season. SPOILERS- ENTER AT YOUR OWN PERIL…

Merlin was happily watching Gwen and Arthur dancing together from the side lines, grinning to himself as he saw his friends smiling. He looked round the hall. Leon was holding a mug of ale at arm's length as Gwaine attempted to get it off him; Percival was wearing a confused expression as Gias tried to explain the principles of a healing potion, and Lancelot… Lancelot… was…? Come to think of it, where was Lancelot?

Merlin instantly winced. How could he have forgotten how hard it was for the knight to see Gwen and Arthur?

With one last glance around the room, Merlin hurried towards Lancelot's favourite spot, the tower.

"Lance?" Merlin called as he poked his head round the door. He paused, his eyes resting on the back on his friend's head.

Lancelot didn't reply, though gave Merlin a small smile when he sat next to him. Merlin hesitated. "You okay?"

Lance gave a grin. "I will be."

"Good." Merlin followed the other man's gaze to the sunset.

Lancelot continued. "It's just difficult, seeing them together…"

"I know." Merlin told him softly. "It's hard losing someone."

Lancelot gulped. "I want to move on… but, I can't."

"You remember everything. And part of you doesn't want to forget."

Lancelot looked at the warlock curiously. Merlin's eyes were glassed over, and he looked like he'd forgotten Lancelot was there. "You speak from experience?"

"Yeah." Merlin told him softly, his jaw setting afterwards.

Lancelot frowned. "What happened?"

"Life." Merlin gulped, closing his eyes. "It still hurts…"

"She… died?" Lancelot asked tentively.

Merlin nodded, gulping as he looked away slightly. "Yeah." He whispered.

"Was she magic, like you?" Lancelot prodded gently.

Merlin nodded, lost in thought.

Lancelot stayed silent. Merlin sighed. "The best thing you can do, Lance, is to except it. You don't have to be happy about it, or do anything. All you can do is except it, and hope one day you move on."

He turned to give the knight a lopsided grin, though the sadness was still in his eyes. They sat there in comfortable silence for a few minutes.

Suddenly, the door bounced open noisily (startling them) to reveal a grinning Arthur. "You two disappeared?"

Merlin grinned. "We were having a heart to heart discussion before you came in a rudely interrupted…"

Arthur raised his eyebrows. "You? A heart to heart conversation?"

"Hey!" Merlin said defensively. "I can be sensitive."

Arthur rolled his eyes. "Right-"

"Okay!" Lancelot cut in with a grin on his face. "I get the idea, you two. And I think the speeches are in a few minutes?"

There we go! I'd really appreciate feedback… :D
