"OLIVER!"

Scared out of his wits, Oliver quickly zipped up his pants and ran out of the bathroom.

"What is it, babe?"

Lilly was standing on a wooden chair, quivering and shaking like a leaf. She pointed to a vacant space in front of the wall.

"Yes, Lils, there's a wall there. It's been there since you've lived here," Oliver replied teasingly.

"NO! It's not the stupid wall! There's a..a.. mouse around here somewhere. You have to get him, I hate mice!"

Oliver's mouth hung open. "A mouse? You freaked out over a mouse?"

Lilly sent him a death glare. "There's no telling where that thing has been! Besides, you know how I am about these things."

Oliver rolled his eyes and grabbed his keys."I'm gonna go pick up some mouse traps. I'll be back in five."

Lilly screamed. "You're going to leave me alone in this apartment with a mouse in it! I don't think so!"

She went to step down from the chair, but her eyes went wide and again, she shrieked.

"There it is! Get it! Get it!"

Lilly was back on the chair in an instant, keeping her index finger pointing at the ball of grey fur scurrying across the floor.

Oliver's eyes scanned frantically across the floor and once he caught a glimpse of the mouse, he lunged for it with his bare hands.

"OW!" He rolled on the floor, grasping his finger. "It bit me!"

Forgetting her fears, Lilly dashed to the bathroom, grabbed antiseptic and bandages then returned to his side.

"Here, let me put some medicine on it."

Lilly carefully took hold of his hand, dabbed some antiseptic onto it before lightly blowing at it to calm the sting, then wrapped a band-aid around the wound. "There. Much better."

"So, did I catch it?"

"No, no afraid not. But that's okay, I guess. The mouse isn't worth you dying over," Lilly chuckled.

"Good to know I'm worth more than a rat," Oliver laughed with her.

"You're worth a lot more than an old rat. Especially to me," she intertwined their fingers and played with his thumb.

"You, too. I was actually scared you were gonna fall off the chair."

"Nah, I was pretty-"

Lilly couldn't finish her sentence.

Her mouth was already occupied with Oliver's lips attached to hers. "I would've caught you if you'd fallen," he whispered to her, smiling ever so slightly.

"I wouldn't have it any other way."
