Ever since she was just a child, Sanaki always sensed there was something special between Sigrun and Tanith. The two women were like real parents to her; Sigrun was the kind and understanding parent, while Tanith was the more bossy and strict parental figure. They argued like parents, they talked like parents, they laughed like parents...and they even shared kisses of undying love like parents sometimes do when the kids aren't looking.
So, Sanaki got the idea of considering both Sigrun and Tanith as her 'two mommies' of sorts.
Things ended up becoming complicated when she told them about it, though.
"Hold up..." Tanith said once she regained her composure, "You...you think of me and Sigrun...as your parents? Empress Sanaki, I apologize for sounding rude, but you are being ridiculous! We're only your caretakers!"
Sanaki nodded. "Yes, but my real parents are dead, and you two always take good care of me...plus you're in love with each other, so you could be like parents to me!"
Tanith blushed and turned her face away to hide it. Smiling warmly, Sigrun said, "Empress Sanaki, I find it very sweet of you to see both me and Tanith as your parents. And...I am also glad that you accept our relationship as well..."
Her face still red, Tanith exclaimed, "Sigrun! You don't understand! The Empress is just a young girl! She shouldn't know about us! She doesn't realize how serious this all is-"
Sigrun placed a finger over Tanith's lips to silence her. "Tanith, my darling...I think it would be for the best if Sanaki does understand, and she learns. Maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to be accepted then...by everyone..."
"...Are you two going to kiss?" Sanaki asked hopefully.
Tanith turned to the young Empress and replied, "Yes, we are. Now go outside and play!"
"But...I'm the Empress, you can't tell me-"
"I SAID GO OUTSIDE!"
Sighing, Sanaki dragged her feet as she left the room.
"DON'T DRAG YOUR FEET! HAVE SOME CLASS!" Tanith called out to her.
Giggling, Sigrun wrapped her arms around Tanith's waist and kissed her gently on the cheek.
After a while of standing still, Tanith said, "...It's funny, you know?"
"What is?" Sigrun asked as she rubbed her head against Tanith's neck.
All of the sudden, Tanith was starting to cry. "I was so...so upset when Marcia left to find her brother. I...I had actually been in love with her, for a little while. I knew it was wrong, especially considering the age difference, but it broke my heart to see her leave. But then...you comforted me, and you kissed me...and I fell right back in love again, but with you this time. And...and I'm just so happy now, being in your arms..."
"Yeah...me too." Sigrun replied with a slight grin.
"I thought I would never be happy again, until you told me you loved me..." Tanith said.
Sigrun chuckled as she remembered that fateful event between them.
Grasping Sigrun's hand tightly in her own, Tanith proclaimed, "I never want to leave you...and I never want you to leave me..."
Sigrun nodded and kissed her lover full on the lips. As they did this, Sanaki was peeking in through a crack in the door. Smiling, she thought, 'Aww...they are just so cute together...'
"I love you, Sigrun..." Tanith whispered in between heated kisses.
"I love you too, baby..." Sigrun replied.
Everything was just perfect for them...until Tanith happened to notice Sanaki peeking in.
Once again, their lovely moment had to be ruined by a nosy little brat.
