CROSSOVER! YAY!

Okay, this is gonna be basically a sequel to my other story, Fallen Hawk, I recommend you read it before this, it's only a one-shot it's short.

But I guess you don't have to. *wink*

Sorry for any OOCness! :-/

Disclaimer: I own neither the Avengers nor the Hunger Games

"We have a new recruit," Nick Fury stated as Natasha, Tony and Steve all shifted in their seats around the conference table.

He started to continue, but was cut off by Natasha's outraged,

"You're gonna replace him?!"

The ghosts of tears she'd tried to cover up ran down her face. It had been only three days since Clint's death, and Romanoff couldn't believe Fury was already trying to replace him.

Sigh.

Miss Romanoff," Fury began, exasperated, "we agreed it's required, there's only three of you at the moment. That's not enough."(A/N: just in case you didn't read Fallen Hawk, Thor's in Asgard and Bruce is missing

Seeing his logic, the assassin reluctantly slumped back in her chair as the Director tossed a file onto the table.

The name on the front read,

Katniss Everdeen

"Here she is."

The door opened, and in stepped a roughly 22 year-old (A/N: this is completely ignoring the epilogue) with long brown hair tied in a side-plait to her right, framed by short bangs. She was dressed in a tight combat suit and boots that she looked surprisingly comfortable in.

"Good afternoon," she said, keeping it formal, "my name is Katniss Everde-"

But before she could finish, an ear-splitting alarm suddenly started, and JARVIS' voice rang out:

"AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!"

Frantic movement suddenly filled the room as the three Avengers stood up and bolted out the door.

In the chaos, the others probably didn't notice, but Natasha had been trained to spot details like this. As they'd headed out, Everdeen had reflexively reached to her back with both hands, before realising there was nothing there for her to reach for.

Archer, Natasha thought.

That's it for chapter one, now this story is being continued by (the amazing) SLYTHINDOR77 on this same site, so if you want to read more go there, I promise her writing is way better than mine ;-)
