Author's Note: Spin off on chapters 489-493 (Sesshomaru wields the full Meidou).
Zangetsuha
A thunderclap in a sky's clearing,
I sense your power, aura, nearing.
I won't kill you though.
Tenseiga's secret you guard,
But it's your face that is marred.
What do you know?
Staff in hand, you demonstrate the Meidou complete.
So you're broken-faced from Father stealing the technique?
Don't whine to me.
It's the perfect circle I seek,
But you're unwilling to speak.
Then on your knees.
I forbid the scowl and your satisfaction
That you negated with a simple action.
Your own black sphere.
I would've said, "Prepare for a trouncing,"
When a scent sweeps past announcing
That half-breed's here.
He draws and there's recognition in your glance.
You say something more and I feel myself blanch.
You stand and grin.
You're pompous and uncouth,
But your words reek of truth.
My mind spins.
Discarded slag is my right of birth?
Like the blade, am I without worth?
Or simply forgotten?
Tetsusaiga – father's power, his approbation –
Was denied to me without hesitation.
Is fate so rotten?
Indignant, I sought reclamation.
For that my left arm was taken.
I pause to consider.
Your last Meidou might have hit
Were my arm not gone; I admit
I never felt bitter.
Even if I suffer at length
I gain self-acquired strength.
It's mine to cherish.
See our powers' disparity, the starkness?
Larger, circular, mine is superior darkness.
Shishinki, perish.
I don't care if your words are true,
I'm finished wasting time on you.
Meidou Zangetsuha!

A/N: How was my rhythm? Poetry isn't exactly my strong suit, but I wanted to try a couplet/end-rhyme style; did it work? The title is simply "Zangetsuha" to mean "strike" or "opening of" (Meidou Zangetsuha being "Opening of the Abyss' Path") to doubel as an epiphany. And because I want a story for each letter of the alphabet.
