This is my first fic so please be nice.

My name is Trevor.

I am Emily's next door neighbor.

The day I met her I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I was head over heels before the moving truck was gone.

However, in the first five minutes when she introduced herself to me, she was already babbling about Derek.

Derek. He lives on the other side of Emily, and she's had a crush on him since they were both in diapers. She knows almost everything about him, from his eating habits to his favorite pair of shoes (his black converse).

What she fails to see is how he's head over heels as well. But not for Emily. For her best friend.

Casey. She's Derek's stepsister. From the moment I met them it was obvious that Derek had fallen for her badly. She doesn't seem to notice, and neither does Emily in this twisted love story.

From my window, I have a clear view of Emily's room, and I watch her all the time. She never notices me though. I don't mean to sound like some kind of stalker. It's just the closest I'll ever get to her.

I've seen her dance around her room when she's happy, and I've longed to be dancing with her. I've seen her throw herself on her bed when she's upset, and I've wanted to hold her and take the pain away. I've seen her play her guitar late at night when she thinks no ones awake and I've wished that I was the one she was writing that song for.

But I'm not. I watch her pore her heart and soul out into a song that's always about Derek. She has the most amazing voice. Then, she sticks it into a folder and doesn't touch it until the next time Derek breaks his heart.

I know. I see it all. It's funny how being gothic can make people think you're invisible. I wonder if Emily ever realized that the boy next door really does think about her every waking moment (and in his dreams too). Just not the one she wants.

She fell for the boy next door all right. She just fell for the wrong one.

Well, what did you think? I love Temily almost as much as Dasey, and no one ever writes it. Please review, flames are accepted as long as they are constructive criticism.
