"Seiichi." Sanada turned to acknowledge the figure that sat down beside him.
It was a cloudy day, with the wind caressing their faces. It was only the beginning of autumn, but the weather had been unusually cooler than normal. Lying flat against the breakwater they sat upon, Sanada let out a very uncharacteristic sigh.
"Stressed?" Yukimura stated, more than asked.
"Nothing I can't handle." Sanada replied.
And they both continued to stare at the sea view.
Conversations between the two had always been limited, Sanada knew that. But they understood each other with no words spoken, and that was enough for them. It was difficult to lead the team single-handed, but it was a job Yukimura trusted him, and he wasn't going to break it.
"You shouldn't be out here, Yukimura." He gave the other a disapproving look. "Your health's important."
Yukimura remained silent before muttering, "So is your sanity.".
They caught each other's eyes and their mouths twitched upwards in the same fashion. It was the understanding that flowed between the two.
Yukimura reached for Sanada's hand and squeezed it. Even though he was useless in the condition he was in, he knew that only he had the strength to calm Sanada's mind. Even though he couldn't be with his team to fight for the nationals, he would always be supporting them.
Supporting him.
And that was the feeling that they both understood -
With no words.
