I sat sullenly on the park bench. A winter breeze brushed through my brown hair.
Does everything seem so saddening?
Even the midnight lights were not appealing when my heart is broken.
He left me. Here. On this damp bench, ten minutes ago.
I looked down at my skintight jeans, tear drops had fell on them, leaving wet marks behind.
Why did Zak leave me, when all I did was love him?
"Come on Zara. Lets get you home." I looked up and there was Kai. I phoned him ten minutes ago, and now he was here. A bright smile was plastered on his face.
Thank goodness he's my friend.
He grabbed my silver hand bag and ushered me into the taxi he had called. Once we were in, the driver looked at me. I ignored his glare, and simply looked down at my feet.
"Bad night huh?" He commented as the engine revved up. Kai smiled and told the driver my address.
"High school love." He stated. Kai, looked at me. I must look insane, with my bright red eyes and the make up that had ran down my cheeks. Another tear rolled down my cheek.
"What has the world become, hey, beautiful girls being left on their own."
Kai had his eyes locked on me.
It was silent the rest of the journey to my house.
When we arrived, we got out of the car and Kai paid the driver.
"Thanks Kai." I sniffled as he kept his hand on my back as we walked into my home. I'm only 15, I don't deserve to be treated badly.
I moved down the pink hallway, my mother was staring at me as we entered the living room. I was assisted to the red couch.
"Zak left Zara in the park." Kai stated as my mom walked over to me, and moved the hair out of my pale complexion. I broke into another fountain of tears.
"oh darling. He doesn't know what he just lost. Would you like a hot drink?" I nodded as my mother beckoned Kai into the kitchen with her.
I just lay there, curled up in a ball on the couch. My pet cat, Fluffy, sat watching me. Purring occasionally.
"Kai, what happened?" I heard my mother ask, as the kettle boiled.
"Zak left her, and Zara phoned me, so I rushed over."
My mother sighed. "You're a nice lad Kai. You really care about her." It is true. Kai did seem to be there for me, every time I needed him.
"Well, she's a wonderful girl."
"She'd be so much happier with someone like you." My mom stirred the drinks
.
"I think I'll let her make her own choices." Kai sounded so mature for his age.
My mother walked in carrying two cups of hot chocolate. "Here you go."
I slowly sipped on my hot chocolate.
"Do you mind if I leave now?" Kai asked me, his eyes warm and soft. His denim jacket rested perfectly upon his broad shoulders.
"Thank you Kai. You wouldn't mind staying a bit longer do you?" I asked, sniffling. He smiled and sat beside me.
"Sure."
We sat talking for hours.
He left at about midnight.
I slowly fell asleep on the couch.
My dream was terrible, I was stood beside a mirror, my reflection was a demon, who jumped out and killed me.
I awoke at 3 am. I couldn't sleep now…I reached for my mobile and texted Kai.
Had a bad dream, can't sleepx
I knew it was pointless waiting for a reply, no one would be up this early.
Suddenly my phone beeped...
