Summery: Princess Vanora has grown up being, basically, ignored. She's done everything that's she's ever been called upon to do without complaint or expectations of recognition. All her life, she's felt alone. Yet, nobody noticed. Or maybe, it was that nobody cared... Either way, this was her life and she had long ago excepted this. One day, something causes the situation to be brought to her parents' attention. Made aware of their neglect, they attempt to make up for it. With a prince. Now, she's expected to marry him and live happily ever after. There's just one problem. She finds herself falling for, not the prince, but his advisor. What will she do now? Will she fight for what she wants or once again submit to the wishes of those around her?

Disclaimer: I don't need one! I own everything! yay! lol

A/N: I got the idea for this story while reading a book titled The Princess and the Hound by Mette Ivie Harrison. For those of you who've read it, it was in the beginning when the prince was talking about his relationship with his father. As you can see, I stretched it quite a bit. lol Well, anyway, enjoy!

Prologue

Loneliness. When you can be surrounded by people and yet feel completely alone. When the people around you tell you that they care but they ignore you when you need them.

That's what Princess Vanora of the kingdom of Kemiru went through everyday. For the first sixteen years of her life, she was isolated. Not physically, but emotionally. She learned not to expect anything from anyone. At least, not for anything that she really needed or wanted. Such as, someone showing that they actually care. Or, hell, someone to sit down and have a conversation with her!

Her parents, King Leun and Queen Seria, were too busy with their own lives to spend much time with her. Same thing with the nobles. Her tutors thought that her studies were the most important and therefore never associated with her in any context other than teaching. The servants were all too afraid to do something they weren't supposed to for fear of losing their jobs and socializing with royalty was definitely not in their job description. As for the peasants, they barely had any contact with her as she usually wasn't allowed off the castle grounds. And even when she was, she was always around people that believed conversing with those of a lower station to be below them.

So, for over a decade and a half, she suffered in silence. She had long since resigned herself to a life of emotional loneliness. That is, until one day…

Well, there you go. Reveiw please! But, also, be gentle. This is my first peice.

Oh, and I'm not sure when I'll put up the first chapter. I wrote this in one night but my muse is usually lazy so who knows when it'll get off it's ass again.
