Start-the-story!
Training, the one thing that would clear Griffon's mind. Today was sparring, no elements, no shifter powers, just their fighting skills.
Griffon vs. Omi. Omi tried to punch her, tackle her, anything, but she just dodged. He tried to tackle her again, she side-stepped & tripped him. He swiped her legs out from under her & she fell to the floor. Because she couldn't use her shifter strength, Omi could pin her to the ground. Griffon brought her legs up to her chest & kicked him in the stomach as hard as she could. Omi flew off of her & she scrambled to her feet; Omi crashed into a tree, caught between two of the branches.
Griffon winced & covered her mouth with a hand. "Oops. My bad."
Master Fung shook his head. "Griffon, take Omi to the medical wing, again."
Griffon went over to her friend & helped him up. "I'm really sorry, Master Fung. You too, Omi. I just can't seem to control my powers."
"That is fine." Master Fung said, waving in the direction of the medical wing.
Griffon tried to get Omi to go to the medical wing, but he insisted on going to his own room. "What were those rules you were talking about?" Omi asked as the two walked down the hall.
That is what she had been trying to clear from her mind. That incident a month ago was terrible & heart-breaking to Griffon - as Graeae said - & she had to agree. "I live by a list of rules that I think are true."
"Well, what are they?" Omi asked again. Griffon pulled out a folded sheet of paper & gave it to him. Omi opened it up & read it over:
Griffon's Rules:
1. Don't believe what you're told. Double check.
2. Never be unreachable.
3. If you have a secret, the best thing is to keep it to yourself.
4. Always be specific when you lie.
5. Never go anywhere without a knife.
6. When the job is done, walk away.
7. Never take anything for granted.
8. Always work as a team.
9. Never date a team mate.
10. Never mess with a Shifter's coffee.
11. It's better to seek forgiveness than ask permission.
12. We don't believe in coincidence.
13. Never cry - as it's a sign of weakness.
14. Always anticipate.
15. Know how to do every job that your team mates can do.
16. Always acknowledge good work by team mates.
17. When your cell phone breaks, have Griffon "fix" it.
18. Never, ever (ever) get Griffon angry.
19. Trust the team!
20. Be kind to your equipment./ Always keep a spare.
21. Treat the team as family: desertion not permitted!
22. Never lie to Griffon.
23. When the computers don't work and the computer technicians won't work, fix them yourself.
24. Always be respectful and polite, no matter what the provocation.

34. Always make sure your work is done but make it look like you are just lazing around.

"You do not follow rules twenty-four or twenty-six." Omi told Griffon. "And you cannot follow rule twenty-five since you are not a nerd."
Griffon laughed at him. "You can't say that if you've seen me outside the temple."
