It was a long week and Maryann, Eliza and Debbie's mother, was not feeling her best due to the fact that it had been a long week filming cardinals and song sparrows in the backyard without much rest.
Maryann went over to the refrigerator and hoped she could find something that was allready prepared to eat for dinner.
Since money was looking slim lately, there was not much to eat in the refrigerator. The only thing that was left to eat in the fridge was a small plastic container of ranch style beans left over from lunch 1 week ago.
Excited that she found something edible that everyone could eat, Maryann grabbed the container out of the fridge and took a sniff of it.
It only took her 3 seconds before the beans and the container hit the trash can.
"What is wrong mom? Are the beans okay?" Eliza said as she got up from the table to help her mom.
"The beans are ruined." Maryann said with a discusted look on her face.
Eliza put her arm around her mom and then said, "Common mom, they cannot be that bad. May I smell"
"Help yourself. Don't say I didn't warn you." Eliza grabbed the container out of the trash can and then took a big swiff. "I stand corrected." Eliza said as her face turned pale from the horrible stench.
"Give it to me." Debbie said, feeling the need to smell something stinky besides Donnie's stinky feet.
"Oh gosh. This is worse than Donnie's feet." Debbie said.
Debbie handed the beans to Donnie, who would normally eat anything stinky and atrocious, however, in this case, he hid under the couch and moaned.
"Wimp. Now where is that monkey?" Debbie said, looking for Darwin.
When Darwin saw Debbie heading towards him, he ran for the patio and locked the door behind him.
"You cannot make me smell those beans." Darwin bellowed.
Finally, Nigel, Eliza and Debbie's dad, came inside from the back yard to get a drink of water. He took one sniff of the air and then said, "Eliza, now we talked about farting outside of the bathroom"
"It's not me, it is the beans." Eliza said.
"What beans? Oh goodness, the smell is atrocious. Maryann, do something"
Maryann grabbed the beans container and threw it back into the trashcan, and there it remained.

Needless to say, no one went around that trash can again, except for Donnie, poor Donnie.
