Lettice Earwig (pronounced Ah-wig, if only by her) makes a point of looking like a witch. She wears coal black, mystical symbols and a great deal of occult jewelry. She has thirteen black cats, with names like Balthazar and Caspian, an immaculately manicured lawn and a door knob so polished it gleams. She spells 'magick' with a k and likes to talk knowingly about lunar energy.
Granny Weatherwax wears midnight black, which –like midnight- is a good deal less black than people think. She doesn't try to look like a witch at all. That's because she's too busy being one.
