The devoted daughter bowed her head as visions came humming through her golden necklace. She listened to pained screams, watched darkness move like an animal, and then prayed.

"I offer humble thanks, oh gods," said Isis Ishtar. "To know my brother's path is a blessing."

Isis set her paperwork aside, contemplating the vision. She'd have to contact Seto Kaiba soon; the time for Battle City was nearing ... the time when she knew Rashid might die - where Malik could do worse than die.

Inevitability ground on her like a continent of stones. She clasped the Torque, desperately seeking the escape that the gods were kind enough to grant her at times.

Light beamed from the necklace and tore the veil of a million, million years from her sight. The present and its teeming, screaming sparks of lives steering into calamity faded into the wind...

Isis opened her eyes to see the world of measureless ages past. Unfamiliar landmasses drifted minutely, violently across the globe; life was a green silence across the land and a chemical tinge lacing the waves. Lonely and already old, the world spun unchanging. The future was so far away that it felt impossible.

Slowly, Isis breathed out.
