Welcome to Briar's Tale! This is the first book, Heartbreak! I am sorry if the prologue is too short. Enjoy! OCCs for the future are more than welcome!
Redwillow paced anxiously, awaiting his friend. Tigerstar padded out of the clearing, nodding to Redwillow and went on his way. Hawkfrost padded up to him. "I know how we can rise again!" Redwillow mewed. "We are as powerful as StarClan!" He whispered the rest of his plan into Hawkfrost's ear.
"That will work nicely. Can you slip into her dreams? She hopefully will listen. If she does, we will rise again. With the biggest army ever! The Dark Forest will be unstoppable!" Hawkfrost cackled.
Briarlight was sleeping in the medicine den. She padded through the forest, until she saw a red tabby tom. "Do you wish you were not crippled?" the tom said, friendly enough.
"In fact, I do. Cats fussing over me, I could never get used to it! If only they would actually understand that I do not like being fussed at!" Briarlight waved her tail angrily.
"Well, I can indeed help you with that. But it comes with a price." The red tom mewed.
"What is the price?" Briarlight asked eagerly
"The price is never seeing your Clanmates again. I know that is tough, but it is the only way."
Briarlight thought. I have to accept! StarClan has never done anything like this for me! "Yes." Briarlight mewed with hesitation.
Did I make the right decision? Millie, Graystripe, Bumblestribe, Blossomfall. They would understand that this is what I was meant to do. This is my destiny. I have to accept it.
"Okay then. Meet me at the Moonpool at the Gathering night. Bring your friend with you, please?"
With that Briarlight woke up, surprised to see the light already. I'll get Grasspelt soon. She thought. She padded off to help Jayfeather with herbs. Boring! At least it was something other than being fussed at.
Bluestar looked down and watched Briarlight. She looked up to see Spottedleaf paddeding up to her. "There is nothing you can do to stop her. I will get Willowpelt. She'll know what to do. Graystripe was her kit. She will guide Briarlight on this path. We have to trust her, Bluestar, if not the Place of No Stars will rise again.
The briar's tail, will wind its way
Through the course of history
Grass as smooth as pelt
Shall help stitch together
The pool's leaf shall heal
The flight of squirrel shall hunt
As the briars grow,
With a hidden thorn"
"Spottedleaf, was that a prophecy?" Bluestar mewed, urgently.
"Yes, indeed it was. Let's watch."
