We did a grouped project in my English class back when school was still on about Romeo and Juliet and one of the activities was to write basically a happy ending to it, and I being the only writer in my group chose to do it. Nothing special, just a simple one shot I decided to share.

Romeo was aghast when he saw his beloved out cold. He shivered and trembled as he forced himself to place his palm on her forehead, cold it was, he pulled back.

"J-Juliet…" he croaked out, Romeo felt his own warm tears breaking through an invisible wall he built between him and his eyelids.

"S-say it isn't so…" his trembling increased, falling to his knees he began to sob profusely.

"J-Juliet! W-why have thou left the one who loved thy most?!" and with that, Romeo was corrupted with his pain and desperation , he reached for his pocket and pulled out his vial of poison.

"In te name of love, tis is for thou my queen!" Romeo with teary eyes he lifted the vial and positioned it along with his lips. He began to count down from 10 in his mind.

'4…3…2…' and before he made it to `, Juliet's eyes slowly opened and Romeo had ingested one drop but he dropped the vial and tossed it when he saw her woke.

"Juliet! My angel!" he embraced her and sobbed with joy.

"R-Romeo!" she warmed up to her husband's grip and held him back. Romeo breathed heavily and sobbed in her soft hair, causing her to tear up herself.
"My goddess, w-what happened to thou?" Romeo croaked out.

"The wedding…the wedding I wanted to avoid it…" she whispered in his ear.

"I thought thou were dead!" he cupped her face and gazed into her galaxy-like eyes and she gazed into his. Juliet noticed the tossed vial in the corner of the tomb.

"What is that?!" she yelled out and he shushed her.

"I'll be alright my love" he reassured her, grazing his cheek with her hand. He made a mental note to go see a witch doctor, before the ingested poison drop killed him. Juliet quickly explained to him what she did and why she did it, emphasizing that she'd rather pretend to have been gone being a Montague, than to be alive and be anything but a Montague. With that, the two star crossed lovers rushed out of the room, Romeo going to see a witch doctor to get an antidote, and Juliet going back to her family reveal she was alive, confessing she purposely drank the sleeping potion to avoid marriage with Paris. Her family was astonished, furious, and angry but Juliet rebelled and said to them.

"If I can't be a Montague, then I won't be" and hearing these words out of her mouth, and seeing her tears and hearing the fact Romeo almost took his life for hers and how he went to visit a witch doctor, word from the Capulets made it's way to the Montagues and the two families despise each other, Romeo and Juliet saw past that and loved each other, the two families ended their "undying" feud to prevent anymore tragedies, and the tale of Romeo and Juliet was indeed now, a happy one.
