Char sat in a bar sipping away at probably the roughest brandy he'd ever purchased. It had been years since he'd finally accomplished his revenge against the Zabi family and now he simply wandered throughout the stars, no longer the Red Comet. He glanced about at the other occupant of the bar. A few seats down was a Feddie, totally passed out in his beer. The bartender was quietly shaking him. Char chuckled and sipped his own drink. The bar stayed at this equilibrium for a while, the Feddie eventually waking up and drunkenly stumbling out. Char ordered another brandy, not exactly sure why he was ordering it. While he was preoccupied, another pressure entered the bar. He spun in surprise, and there, standing before him, was the former pilot of the White Devil, Amuro Ray. Amuro stared at him before taking a seat next to him.

"I'll have what he's having."

"You really shouldn't. It's totally disgusting."

Amuro put his head in his hand.

"Is that so? What a shame, it was my birthday today and I was looking forward my first drink."

Char glanced at him and lowered his glass. He pulled out what little cash he had left on him.

"Bartender, get this boy the best thing you've got."

Amuro chuckled and pulled his arm down.

"I don't need you to buy my drinks, Char Aznable."

He held up his own fiver.

"Don't listen to him, just the usual stuff will do."

The bartender seemed confused but Char dealt the finishing move.

"Alright, get him the usual stuff and keep the rest for yourself, as a tip."

The bartender took Char's money and Amuro's drink was poured out in a dusty glass. Amuro pouted and rested his cheek on his fist.

"Just great, now I'll have to tell people you bought me my first drink."

Char just snickered and hid behind his glass. Amuro grabbed his drink and threw it back. He coughed and sputtered before leaning over the counter. Char patted him on the back, maybe a bit rougher than necessary.

"Haha, easy now Amuro. Brandy isn't that sort of drink. You've got to sip it down slowly…"

Amuro purchased his second drink and did just that. He sipped it slowly and let it mill about his lips. He then placed it back down on the counter.

"There, much better isn't it?"

Amuro nodded a little, staring down at the glass, getting lost in the ruddy amber color of the alcohol.

"About Lalah…"

Char put a hand on Amuro's head, comforting him not unlike an older brother.

"Enjoy your drink Amuro, it's the first one you'll ever have."

Amuro blew bubbles in his brandy.

"It's the second."

"Don't be a smartass, you know what I mean."

Amuro nodded and smiled.

"Yeah I do."

The bar was quiet, the only sound being the bartender wiping away at his dusty glasses.

"Hey Char?"

"What is it Amuro?"

"… Thank you."
