He sat under his tree. It was raining and there was a chance that he would get struck by lightning but he didn't care. He sat alone. He sat as the hours passed by, the sky got darker and gusts of wind made the tree shake. He was lost in his own world. Thinking, about her yet again. Every waking moment of his, he spent thinking of her. The way she laughed. Her bright smile. The way her eyes would twinkle with suppressed mirth each and every time he made a fool out of himself. She was an angel. She was his angel. Always there to brighten up his day. She was perfect in every way. She was kind and thoughtful. She did not possess a wicked bone in her perfect body. He was thinking about her so hard that, as he was gazing out into the rain, he thought he saw her. He shook his head. She would never talk to him unless forced. She barely even knew he existed. But there it was again. A flicker of red hair in the otherwise grey landscape. He couldn't believe his eyes. It was her. She walked up to him and sat down under the tree. She was so close he could practically feel the heat radiating off her. Her mouth opened slightly and with soft lips parted, she uttered one word,
"Hey."
His eyes widened slightly. She wasn't a dream. She was here, with him. Not inside, enjoying the warmth. Outside, with him. He realised that he was staring and immediately blushed and looked away.
"Hey," She said again, though this time, it was less soft, more breathless and he shivered with longing for this girl. This girl who haunted his dreams and plagued his mind. He looked up at her and swallowed. As he looked at her, he saw her eyes, flicker to his lips and back to his eyes. What was she thinking? He looked at her lips, slightly apart, and lost his train of thought again. He looked back to her eyes and saw them sparkling with a secret. He quirked his eyebrow.
"Oh for heaven's sake!" She cried out, surprising him. Before he could reply, her lips pressed against his, conveying a sense of hunger and longing that she had felt for him for so long. He kissed her back. His arms travelling up her side to entangle themselves in her hair. Her arms, snaking around his waist. They parted for breath and rested their foreheads together. Panting heavily, he spoke,
"I love you."
She smiled. "I love you too"
He pressed against her again and felt a shiver run through her body at his touch. She loved him. After so many years of loving her in secret, he knew, she loved him back.
